Staff was all great, friendly, helpful, patient. I got in and out very quickly. I’m always anxious in medical facilities about proper hand hygiene and sanitation. The staff made me feel more at ease. Nurse sanitized everything directly after I used it. Dr(or NP?) Was very nice, helpful, seemed to listen very patiently and sanitized before doing checkup and washed hands after. The only issue was one of them lifted the trash can lid with clean hands instead of using the foot pedal. Maybe it was broken? That’s why I took off one star. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The nurse was extremely nice, efficient and able to answer all of my questions. The doctor, took the time to listen to why I was there, examined me and informed me of his diagnosis and what I need to do. Although the wait time was annoying, that’s not really my issue. My issue is with the woman at the front desk. After waiting for 90 minutes with my name showing as the next patient on their kiosk screen, I finally asked the receptionist if she could give me an estimate on wait time as I had to be to work in 40 minutes. She acted as if that was a ridiculous question and asked if I was checked in. I said yes. She said they didn’t even have me checked in and there were 4 people ahead of me. She was also snippety, telling me to put on a mask before she would speak to me and acting as if I had the bubonic plague.(I was there for a work related physical.) They had a sign asking people to wear a mask IF they had symptoms such as cough, etc., and I did NOT have any. It comes down to HOW she answered the question about how long the wait would be and the complete and utter lack of humanity in her demeanor. Every one was wonderful! I had to stay 4 days and 3 nights. When I needed help the Nurses were there immediately. They spent as much time as I needed then to, none of the “I have other things to do” attitude.
They were kind and informative to my family
And answered every question.
I would definitely recommend The Topeka ER over the other 2 places hands down!!
When i first got there it was very welcoming and Marissa at the front desk was very nice, i had no wait time they sent me back right away! Nurse Amy and Tricia are the best they were the sweetest and walked me through everything and made me very comfortable while i was there. Techs Rhonda and Laykin were super nice as well, and Tyler the radiologist was super cool and helped me through my whole scan. The lab results came back super fast and didn’t have to wait long at all for them! Very clean and sanitized place! Dr. Herrin is awesome, he explained everything to me on what was going on and talked me through everything and made sure i was comfortable! Overall highly recommend Topeka ER and Hospital, if i ever have an issue again i will definitely be back to these guys!
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a medical facility. Was taken in immediately, treated with compassion, and diagnosed and treated. I was a little worried about their billing as they told me they did not take insurance, but was told they would honor my insurance company’s prices. I had no guarantees that this would actually be the case, but in the end they did exactly what they said they would do, and the billing procedure was more painless than dealing with some hospitals that are actually contracted with my insurance company. If anyone in my family has a medical emergency, this is where we’re going.
Very prompt service and friendly. Able to walk right back to a room. Had a nurse in the room within a minute and a doctor in the room within 5 minutes. Treatments were promptly started. Would highly recommend for non life threatening injuries or illness. Thank you so very much for your kindness and professionalism.
Great experience. Quick thorough service. I appreciate how kind everyone was. In less than 2 hours: the nurses, administrators, radiology technician and doctors were able to: do bloodwork, urine analysis, IV, CT scan and have a radiologist review the scans.
I appreciate the ability to do all of those things so quickly…and have answers about my situation immediately. Thanks for the great experience.
