The staffs are friendly and nice and the whole environment is very bright and clean. It’s such a wonderful and warm place for patients. When I visited there, I didn’t know what happened with my insurance. But the staffs were really positively helping me deal with the situation. Doctor was nice and patient too! I just felt so well through the whole experience.By Wei Hsu (5 months ago)Jill was amazing. She answered all my questions with genuine concern. She was extremely gentle & kind. Also the nurse was also amazing. I forgot her name but she’s really pretty with a bunch of really beautiful tattoos. Her banter was more than refreshing. Thank you Urgent Care Team – Hollister Village!By Aysia Guron (8 months ago)It was my first time going here and I went alone. I was trying to figure out how to apply my UCShip (school insurance) to the visit since I have never had to do so before. I was having trouble with it and Maria, the medical assistant at the front desk, was anything but kind to me. She just assumed I knew what to do when I was never given clear instructions in the first place, and her tone was very condescending, “Why haven’t you sent it [the insurance card] to our email?”, “We need the PDF to our email and we’re not getting it”. Of course I was in pain and was not having the best day, so the way she spoke to me as if I was nothing more than a helpless child made me feel so much smaller than I already felt being there. When you’re in so much pain, all you need is an ounce of sympathy, especially if you’re a patient who is trying to seek for help. However, Maria did nothing but continued being rude to me. Even today when I called back asking if I could order crutches she still couldn’t have just helped me like any other health provider, and instead, told me “We offered you them yesterday and you said no”. The radiology technician and my PA who helped me was the opposite of Maria and was very kind. They were so patient with me and took their time trying to make sure I was comfortable. I can’t thank them enough. I really hope that Maria does not treat all the patients the way she treated me. I can’t imagine being in so much distress that you have to attend urgent care, only to be greeted by someone who gives you rude and dismissive remarks. I hope Maria reaches the bare minimum and learns how to be kind one day.By Mindy Lam (4 months ago)very helpful and sweet staff. super clean environment. they take covid protection very seriously too. thank you for all your help yesterday ladies. appreciate you! also to those reading, try to make an appointment before you go to avoid a long wait as a walk-in!By Briana Mariconda (6 months ago)I had facial surgery the day previous and was suffering complications. I had called my surgeon and they had instructed me to seek immediate medical attention. I went to this urgent care as it was the closest to my home. When I entered the facility the young women at the front desk refused me care as I did not have a mask. I tried to explain to her that I could not put on a mask (which would be obvious to anyone who could see the bandages, bruising, and dried blood on my face). She did not care and sarcastically told me to have a nice day.
My wife then, took me to the Goleta Hospital emergency room where I was immediately taken back to a room without a mask as obviously that would not work with my bandages/situation, and provided me care.
I would not recommend this facility under any circumstances, and instead recommend the emergency room. As a local, I will be reminded of the sarcastic response from the lady at the front desk whenever I am shopping or eating in this area from now on.
Edit:
I have now recieved a response from my review indicating a number to call, which was described as a direct line. This was not the case, as it led me to a messaging system.
Judging by the other responses and reviews I have read for this facility, two things are clear to me:
1) They have a serious problem providing care
2) They have no Intrest in resolving it.If you have the means to do so, I would go to the Goleta Hospital Emergency Room. The care I recieved there during this incident was superb.
To the young lady working the front desk on 6-26-22, I hope you never experience what you subjected me to while I was in a significant amount of pain and distress.

That’s it for our list of the best urgent care clinics in Santa Barbara CA! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
We were traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and we booked un appointment for our infant who has a fever, and we told them we will be late for 15 minutes because of the traffic, and they said that’s fine! And when we arrived they said we can’t take you because you are late!! Seriously!! We spent a lot of time talking with them and with the insurance while we are driving, but we ended up with this bad treatment from the guy who is working in front desk!!
This is not only unprofessional but also unethical!!
The staff were amazing, all matters were handled in a professional and efficient matter. Making the appointment, check in, and visit felt so efficient. The provider Alexa, listened to my concerns and developed an effective and thoughtful plan of care based off my needs and the presenting symptoms.
Highly recommend Cottage Urgent Care. The wait was not long. I was able to make a same day appointment. The staff took their time with me. They were professional and very proficient. And helped me soo much. The whole experience was great!
Save your copay if you are going here for treatment of Covid. Gave my $50 and spent 2+ hours only to be told they can not prescribe Paxlovid. I received the advice you would have received from your mother regarding cold flu relief. Nice people and place but they should have a sign on the door.
Check-in nurse and NP were kind and professional. Listened to what I had to say. I was taken care of in 45 minutes. Appointments can be made online or you can walk in without an appointment. I highly recommend this medical facility.
