I took my son here on December 20 to get tested for Covid and flu. He came back negative despite his test results. They refused to see him in office for an ear ache that he was having. The people working there did not communicate well with one another so we weren’t sure if my son can be seen or not after 4 1/2 hours of going back-and-forth with them the doctor was able to see my son, the PA did an amazing job, examining my son, and determined he had a bad infection, and gave him medication. The staff here needs to know how to take notes in the patient chart and communicate better with one another.By Maggie Valdez (2 months ago)THE FRONT DESK STAFF IS LAZY AND UNTRAINED.The front desk staff is WORTHLESS!!!! They put you on hold for 5-7 mins than you get disconnected magically. You try and call back and you get put on hold again for another 7 mins. Even after you tell them your issue or pleaded your case to them 1-3 times already they still need to be filled in again. The nurses and the doctor I had were very nice and prosfessional. The doctors, physicians assistant and nurses are all genuinely concerned and addressed all my concerns.By Michael Naval (2 months ago)Very bad experience here, I want to point at a specific practitioner whose name is Alenjandro Alvarez Buatista. I came in for heart palpitations and gerd issue i am having, he asked me what was going on with me when he first came in and I told him that I have been here before and which I needed retesting for a specific gut bacteria and I also requested that I needed to see a gastroenterologist and a cardiologist which he got bothered by. He made it seem that he was very bothered by that request and told me that there was no need for that right now. I insisted a second time since the first time I came in, the first practitioner that saw me put in that request for me in since I was was having very bad heart palpitations.
I asked Alejandro that if having heart palpitations was not a serious problem for him and he said that in my case is wasn’t. He did not request an EKG or anything that would check if there was any problems going on with my heart. He seemed obviously upset or in a very bad mood that lastly he walked in the room 1 last time to quickly leaving some papers in the counter and saying “I got what you requested” and leaving the room almost instantly without asking if I had any questions or concerns.
I thought these people were supposed to help and not judge you by the way you look, speak, or your concerns even.
I would not recommend this facility while Alejandro is working there. I will be taking this to the local news.

Showed up to DOD as a walk in. Total wait time was 4 hours. Doctor still saw the patient that arrived after me. I asked for a strep throat test was not given one. Only given a COVID test. Tested – for COVID. Gave me Clindamycin as a precautionary measure. Five days later saw a different clinic that administered a strep test. Tested positive for both COVID and strep. The other Doc I saw was shocked that I was given Clindamycin. Shame on you DOD. The front desk was also a bit immature. Lady’s looked to be younger than 21. Behavior and etiquette matched.
New booking system works very well. I walked in. When the receptionist got to me, she said they could see me in about 4 hours. They would call me 15 minutes before the appointment. I went to my office in Spreckels and got a lot of work done until the call. It still works as an immediate care facility but very efficiently.
The wait is ridiculous. I called at 2:30PM and asked if I needed to make an appointment. They said no that I could do it as a walk-in. I arrived at 3:00PM and wasn’t seen till 6:00 PM. The waiting room is another problem, acoustics are terrible, the receptionist sit way low and with all of the COVID shields in place you cannot determine where and from whom the voices are coming from. Poorly run and executed operation. Communication up front would have been nice. If I would have known I would have come in at 08:00AM instead of burning over 3 hours of my valuable day.
Although the wait was long to see a physician, it was well worth the wait. The Dr. was kind, listened to me, my health history (my GP of 30 years retired recently) and took a wholistic approach to determine the next steps for me. I truly appreciated the staffs professionalism as well.
I’ve been going to Dr. Michael Luder for a long time. He is an Osteopath. A special Doctor who really cares about getting his own patients well. Thanks to Doctors on Duty for addressing my complete medical needs during a Pandemic in a Straight -forward professional manner
