This was one of the best urgent care experiences I’ve ever had. I’m glad I chose this place. The staff were all super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help, unlike many other places. I was taken intoUrgent care seriously ill. The staff the checked us in was so patient with my husband because usually I’ll check everybody else in. This is the first time I’ve gone to the clinic. I got taken into a room with little wait. The nurse that helped me was wonderful. The nurse practitioner that helped me was so kind and caring. I felt like my mother was taking care of me. Took my daughter in to be seen. Got here around 4:00. Receptionist told me it would be about a 30 to 45 minute wait. Got brought back to the room after 10 minutes but then had to wait over an hour to be seen. Spent 5 minutes with the doctor, who won’t give antibiotics for a 3 week long sinus infection even after a negative covid test. Didn’t leave until after they closed at 5:50. Was called right in to get vitals done…but sat in a room after that. The NP was very helpful and kind. She apologized for the long wait. Come to find out, she was the only NP seeing patients. They need to have more than one person to see patients. Also they cannot do blood work, urinalysis, cultures, etc. you have to go to the hospital. They really only help with minor issues. It cuts all the red tape that you get at the hospital but if it is a major issue, go right to the hospital. The doctors and the staff here are very kind and considerate toward their patients. I would highly recommend the walking for anyone that is in need immediately. I have always been treated with respect by everyone in the place. I would highly recommend alcona health center too many people.

In six years I’ve learned not a single employee is there to help the low income patient. They operate under the guiese of health care when in fact it’s nothing more than a human assembly line, jamming as many medicare recipients through the door that is legally allowed. If you’re shopping for “Health Care” you’ve been warned.
My daughter and I had appointments at Alpena’s Acute Care Clinic, and it was the best acute care I have received in a long time! Sarah Stevens and her nurse were great with my young one and explained everything very thoroughly. The pharmacy was also super friendly and had our prescriptions ready to go as soon as we came through the drive thru.
