This pretty much gets 5 stars because of value.
I didn’t love all the pastries/breads. They ranged from a 3-5 stars, but you can’t beat them price for what you get. It’s definitely a fun place to go grab a number of goodies.
The tray that I’m carrying in the picture was just under 21 dollars all together.By Wai Chan (a year ago)Discovered this place today by accident. What a wonderful surprise. So many choices it was hard to choose, everything I picked was delicious. I’ll have to come back soon.By Jennifer V (6 months ago)The international bakery is an Omaha gem. The smells alone rewards them with 5 stars. I could be wrong but I feel like they have the biggest selection of baked goods in Omaha. They have something for everyone! Their selection goes from savory items to sweet items and then everything in between. Highly recommend!By Mandy Adams (2 months ago)When I first went here, I was overwhelmed to see at the varieties they serve. I went to pick up a cake (photo below). It’s a mixed fruit tresleches and I am in love with this cake ever since I have eaten. They keep baking fresh stuff whole day around and everything is amazing. It’s less sweet which I really like and you can enjoy have their stuff without a sugar saturation in your palette.Should go!! Miss this bakery in Omaha!

Old school bakery doing donuts the right way. You can tell they let their dough mature. Great chew while still being light and fluffy. Fried perfectly without being greasy. Their kolaches are delicious too with all the classic fillings, including poppy seed!By Patrick Crough (8 months ago)Wanted to find a locally owned doughnut shop and we found this gem. Location was easy to find for us and the business is very small. We grabbed a dozen donuts and wished we grabbed some more to take home! We will need to begin to make this a regular stop when we come to Omaha. Nothing that we tried was bad and we would be very hard pressed to pick just one favorite!By Brenda N (6 months ago)Support independent!! Not only are the baked goods fantastic but the ladies are best! The shop is truly a gem. It has all the cookies and pastries displayed in a glass case. The Hoska was amazing!!! Hoska is a Czech Christmas bread that I ordered with my Thanksgiving pie. Sorry, it didn’t last long enough to get pictures.By Diane Franks (4 months ago)The rolls and doughnuts were awesome!! And the ladies working were friendly and helpful. There was a short line even though it was 7am. So you know they are good.By Fran Main (a week ago)This no frills bake shop puts out great tried and true classic glazed doughnuts, crullers, iced cake, glazed croissants, etc. The cake doughnut had a great golden color but the cake recipe itself was a little bland. I like a little spice or oomph in my cake doughnuts so these just tasted a bit mild. Quite sweet icing but it wasn’t too thick.
They’re also a bargain at just $1 per doughnut! Some places are selling crazy toppings these days but Olsens sticks to the classics and does them well.
During COVID they are limiting capacity to 3 customers at once (it’s quite a small shop). So there will likely be a bit of a wait–I think I waited 12 minutes around 10 AM on a Saturday. It’s a cute little shop, it’s been there quite some time by the looks of it.

Great place to work and buy bread at! Totally recommend it. Owners as well as employees are amazing people!!
Best bread there is.
And at the retail store, the prices are so good I feel like a thief.
I am a big fan of anything pumpernickel or marbled. They also have the best Keto bread I have ever had.
This place is amazing. I don’t know what’s going on here but 2 loads of marble rye bread was $2.40!!!! I’m from the east coast and heard about this company from visiting Vermont Country Deli. They had the best marble rye bread. You could buy by the loaf or get it on deli sandwiches. After a couple visits we found out that they order it from this place and we happened to pass by while driving cross country.
Always an excellent experience. Such a great bargain! Bread prices are outrageously low and the bread itself is always varied and always delicious. A true Omaha institution.
What’s not to like? GOOD bread at a great price. They seem to have ample supplies of the staple breads and buns (Vienna, sandwich). Then, there is a variety of other breads. Some more limited in quantity, but that’s OK. We like trying or rediscovering different bread. Love the French toast bread! And of course, the pizza dough!!!
