The Auburn Avenue CVS is a fine pharmacy and general store that I will continue to frequent. I love the coupons and the products that you sell. The staff is extremely helpful at all times and to all of the other customers. Brenda GoldblattBy Brenda Goldblatt (2 months ago)We have used this pharmacy for years. The pharmacists and staff have always been friendly, professional and helpful!By Catherine Ruby (3 months ago)I am traveling in an RV and so not in one spot very long. We had reservations at RV Parks and had to be at the Parks at the appointed time. I called 5 days early to get a prescription filled. I was told by the Pharmacist that the medicine was “in stock” and I could pick it up anytime as it processed through my insurance no problem. Arriving the next day I learned at the counter that the medicine was in fact, not in stock and had to be ordered. Further mistakes were made until I ended up leaving without the medicine. Not only was the service incompetent, but the attitudes of the staff were all abrupt and unhelpful. I got the feeling they didn’t really care whether I got this prescription or not. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.By P Scott (a year ago)Absolutely horrific experience today.
I came in and went to drop off to ensure they had my prescription and that they were filling it. I was told by the employee (who verified with the pharmacist) that it would be ready in 30 minutes.
When I returned I find out he never actually expedited it and was told I’d have to wait another 30 minutes to an hour.
While I was waiting and watching many other customers came in with similar issues (being sent emails that their prescriptions were ready only to be told when they arrived that they weren’t).
Eventually it ended with what I assume was either the store or pharmacy manager berating customers. Swearing at them, in front of children and threatening to call police. To be clear the customers were frustrated but the only person yelling was the employee.
This store and pharmacy is out of control and Corporate needs to step in.
By Jonathan Read (a year ago)This review reflects my visit to this facility on 9/10/21.I would rate this experience as -0- stars if the option was available.
My delay in posting this review is due to extended out of town travel. My scheduled COVID test appointment was cancelled without explanation and without options for rescheduling online. I went to this store to resolve this issue and get a test. The female practitioner in the MinuteClinic was arrogant and hostile. Her personality is fundamentally incompatible with her position, and she has no business being in the health care professions. After aggressively refusing to engage with respect to alternatives, she refused to identify herself and was not wearing the name tag customarily worn by CVS employees. The store manager, who also declined to identify herself and also wasn’t wearing a nametag, did a great “Sergeant Schultz” from Hogan’s Heroes performance of the “I know nothing”/ostrich in the ground routine. These employees are an embarrassment to the CVS brand. I’ve had good experiences at other CVS locations, because I use CVS for my Part D Medicare drug plan.
Accordingly, thanks to this inappropriate, arrogant, and childish conduct, I rate this CVS location as the worst facility in their network and will NEVER set foot in it again!

Pharmacists can’t even be bothered to answer the phones. The rest of the store is fine, but GOOD LORD. Why can’t the pharmacy use a phone? God forbid I get my insulin every month without playing phone tag with them and then having to go in and still wait cause they can’t remember to contact a doctor to approve a prescription I’ve been taking every single day for 18 years.By Creepylil Panda (a month ago)I went into buy a bottle of water and was having a horrible day. The cashier could see this I guess and took a minute to talk to me. There wasn’t anyone waiting and I needed the kind words she spoke to me more then anything at that moment. She didn’t have to do or say anything. She could have just rang me up and let that be that. These are the people that need to be recognized! I wish new her name..it was Friday afternoon. She had glasses and a while sweater. I don’t know if this will ever get to her superiors or her. But, I want to say thank you very much. It really does make a difference. 💕So many people are barely even doing the bare minimum at the jobs they have, so to have someone reach out on a personal level felt really great!By Danielle Tardy (10 months ago)I live in town, and unfortunately my UPS packages cannot be delivered directly to my apartment, as the lobby door locks, and I appreciate that packages are not left out on the front steps. They mostly are left at the UPS store to pick up which is always fine. I dread when they are redirected to CVS because there are always delivery delays etc, but I make it work.
I had the WORST experience the other day with a man who could not get their handheld device to register my package, which was there… with my name on it. Instead of explaining that the system was down or whatever other issue was probably out of his control, he got quite snarky and told me I couldn’t have my package. With any sort of kindness or explanation (“ah shoot, technology!”), I would have happily come back another day and thanked him for his efforts.
I went back today, had a much more pleasant interaction, and got my package. I described the man I had trouble with and the employee identified him as the STORE MANAGER. It seemed the staff is equally as put off with his general demeanor as I was.
It’s amazing what a little bit of kindness can accomplish. It is equally as amazing how one five minute interaction with an unpleasant man could make me never want to step foot into an establishment again. I’m not asking for 5 star service at a CVS, just some humanity. Clearly some kindness needs to be shown to the staff who has to deal with that man as well.
By sylvi roy (a year ago)It was such a quick phone call, I believe she told me her name was Emily, but it was exactly what I needed. She sounded incredibly busy, non-stop clacking on a keyboard in the background, but she quickly gathered my information and was incredibly helpful and gave excellent customer service. I feel like dealing with prescriptions and pharmacies could be such an annoying process, but whoever I spoke to on the phone made it quick and painless, thanks for doing your job so well!By David Nutter (Dv8 Nutt) (a year ago)Pharmacists are a joke. Didn’t get meds filled after providing information in the store. Issues with listening, rude, and while typing in my information, or trying to…had another pharmacist tell this person 3 times what she was typing in was wrong; young chinese female with glasses. That was just my name! I got a call today that there’s an issue with the insurance. They couldn’t get that the 1st time either; even though they had my insurance cards in hand prior. Another pharmacy tried calling to get the medication that was supposed to be filled here, transferred. CVS didn’t answer the phone for them. When I asked at the counter if they had talked to Walmart, pharmacist’s all looked at each other and said nope. Refills that were sent to this CVS, were never transferred cause CVS didn’t answer the phone.
Also, can’t connect or log into pharmacy under my account online. A person shouldn’t have this many issues at day one. Day one states what day 300 will be like. Avoid! Basic items are also 2-3 times as much. One cashier, who I had to wait for cause she wasn’t at the register. She was stuck up. Didn’t ask for my card or about coupons. I provided it on my own. I worked retail for 10 years. This isn’t customer service.By king Cobra (a year ago)

That’s it for our list of the best CVS in Portland ME! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
The pharmacy is rude and give quick choppy answers and it seems they really just don’t care about helping customers. It’s been like this for quite a while, it seems the upper management in the pharmacy needs to look into this. (I’m sure they won’t as it’s been like this for a few years now). CVS westbrook needs to work on treating customers with decent manners and respect if someone in upper management sees this.
Thanks.
I have been a customer there for 20 years. Over the last few years the store has gotten so dirty. I am an RN and I understand how busy they are but the pharmacist was so rude both on the phone and in person. Their supply of drug that was prescribed was expired so after sitting in the ER for 5 hours I had to turn around and go back to the hospital. They were very kind and efficient at the hospital pharmacy. I will never go back to this CVS
Absolutely terrible service from the pharmacy.. they are extremely rude. Took my neighbor, a 75 year old veteran to pick up his prescriptions he was also treated with Complete disrespect. Poor guy had a debit card and told him he could have a bag unless he had 5 cents! I threw a quarter at em and told them to give the next 4 customers bags!! My opinion SWITCH TO WALGREENS!
If you can find another CVS pharmacy to fill your prescriptions within a reasonable distance, do yourself a huge favor and don’t come here. First time I’ve ever heard of a 7 day wait for a prescription because they’re “behind”. I’m not sure that’s even company policy. Don’t see how it could be. To top it off, they’re extremely rude.
Every time you visit this location, it’s an exciting game to guess whether the staff will have more loathing for you or for themselves. Steer clear of this horribly run and depressing store.
