  1. Been going here for years for the same RX. Pharmacist (new? never seen her) rejected my script (on 12/13) claiming that she called my doctor and that she rejected it. I went back through the drive through and asked her to clarify exactly who denied and she said it was the nurse for my doctor. Called my doctor and her nurse assured me that was most certainly not the case, but that the Pharmacist rejected it because of the paper type it was printed on (same for years). Okay, but why lie? Lost my business.

  2. My experience saddened and angered me. 10pm sunday aug 21. manager hard to find, had to be paged to release anti theft device for some eyelashes. We were able to make purchase thanks to the register clerk who worked hard to help us.

  3. I made an appointment online around 5pm for a flu shot and a Covid booster shot. All the emails that I received confirmed my appointment at 7 PM I filled out all the necessary forms. I knew I couldn’t just walk in without an appointment so I made it online like I was supposed to. When I got to the location at 640pm the pharmacy cashier ask what I was there for and I told him. He then told me they couldn’t open another booster vail because it would be wasted. I just don’t understand how you can make the appointment just to be told to come back tomorrow…. I was made to feel bad because if they opened the booster vail then 5 people wouldn’t be able to get it… really! So it my fault that I did what I was supposed to. COVID has really made people be so not caring. Almost every time I go to a CVS it’s something wrong. They even closed, they out of stock, understaffed… just a mess…The CVS store manager was nice … all she could do is give me a 1800 number… knowing thats not gonna help anything!! People just need to start caring and update your systems so that you can inform the customers that you CANT open a the medicine you need because it would be wasted….

  4. I want to take a quick opportunity to let CVS know that the ongoing focus on labor productivity and shareholder profit is securely established at the North Kansas City, Missouri (#8543) pharmacy location. I arrived at the pharmacy at closing time on Sunday, December 18 to pick up one prescription that was ready. As I approached the pharmacy, a young woman greeted me by saying, “We’re closed.” I asked even if it was to just pick up one pre-paid prescription. She replied by stating the register had already been shut down earlier. Her co-worker promptly lowered the gate in front of me. I took a photo of the closed gate, time-stamped at 6:00 P.M. sharp…not 6:01, as that extra minute would not have supported the practice of efficiency and profit.

At no time was there any risk that I would have confused CVS with a company that had a genuine culture of caring for people. The indifference and lack of simple politeness are effective tools to achieve CVS’s efficiency goals in North Kansas City. They are on it!

  5. Called for assistance because the CVS app NEVER works (tried 8 times today) and the pharmacist on duty today was so rude “can’t help you” was her response. Nice to know they’re just there for a paycheck -not to actually help sick people. I will NEVER go to this CVS pharmacy again. Hateful individuals.

Great staff, clean store, and prices are better than nearby businesses.

Please turn the self checkout volume down. It yells at you. Customers (including me) wait in line at a single cashier instead of using it. A soft but audible volume and I’d use it every time.

I have never been treated with more disrespect than I have at this store. The employees were just talking to each other while I waited in line on one visit. The time before the guy said “Just a minute Sir! You can use the self check out if you don’t want to wait.” As I stepped up to the counter. I said “It’s ok I don’t mind” and he seemed mad that I was waiting for him to check out. They need to train better employees that have respect for what they are getting paid to do.

This CVS closes at 7 PM not 9 PM, which is something we found out at 8:45 pm when we tried to go to this location.

My 86 yr old grandmother’s prescription was supposed to be ready 12/16/22. Today is 12/30/22 and the prescription is still not ready with no explanation other than the pharmacist “are backed up.” What makes matters worse, we continue to call to check the status of the prescription and have been lied to on multiple occasions by pharmacist saying the prescription is ready or will be ready at a specific time. When we go to CVS to pick up the prescription, it’s not ready. We been told on two separate occasions just today alone that they would have it ready. Initially it would be ready at 2pm, but it wasn’t. Then they said 5pm and we went for pick-up at 6pm and still not ready. I can understand if there was a med shortage, but that hasn’t been communicated. However they continue to lie and waste others time and gas of saying the medications will be ready. A month and a half is too long for anyone that needs their medication to have to wait. CVS needs to do better. We aren’t the only ones experiencing this as we’re witnessing cvs turn person after person away saying their prescriptions aren’t ready. They have got to do better. This is unacceptable.

They used to be really good but are not handling staffing shortages well at all. There have been a couple times when I have been waiting in the drive thru (one time I had COVID) and they had a cardboard sign saying to come in because the drive thru was closed. Thankfully, the time I had COVID they actually answered the phone and I was able to get what I needed at the drive thru. Today was worse. I had scheduled a combined COVID/flu test several hours before and showed up to my appointment to find the drive thru closed again. Thw sign said to wait if you were there for a COVID test so I waited. After about 10 minutes I decided to call since maybe they didn’t know I was there. I waited on hold for 20 minutes, still sitting in the drive thru. While I was on hold my husband went in to ask about the test. After he waited in line for several minutes he was informed that the person that normally does COVID tests wasn’t there and I would have to go somewhere else. Which would have been nice to know when I made my appointment or even when I was on hold for 20 minutes. Hopefully the other CVS that I managed to get in with has their “COVID test person” there today. I am unsure why their needs to be a designated person for testing when you do the swab yourself in the drive thru and place it in the LabCorp box yourself but regardless, if the person isn’t there, people should be notified that they can’t get their test done before they wait in line for 30 minutes. Also, I find it hard to believe that they are so short staffed that no one can answer the phone. My husband witnessed them ignore 7 calls while he waited in line. All in all, an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with a business that used to have great customer service. I would love to be contacted about my experience but I doubt that will happen since they are too short staffed to answer the phone, do drive thru service, honor testing appointments, or even update their cardboard sign.

Since Jan. 2022 there has been a high turn over rate for the staff and low morale. The pharmacy technicians are rude, the floors are dirty and filthy, and the shelves are empty most of the time. When I reported these concerns, I was told that employees are not reporting to work as scheduled. There have been three new store managers in the past six months. There is a long waiting time when placed on hold for call in prescriptions. I notice there are more “floating pharmacist” than before. I have heard other customers in the check-out line complain the poor service and rude technician.

I’m done with this location. They are consistently understaffed and have to close the drive thru lane; they don’t turn the phone on when the store is open (i.e., the recording says the store is closed and won’t put you through to a pharmacist); they randomly inactivate prescriptions due to their own errors, forcing multiple calls to the doctor’s office to get medication you need; prescriptions will be stuck “in process” for days. Take your business literally anywhere else – the headaches aren’t worth your time!

If you need your prescriptions filled, stay far away from this pharmacy. I have been going here for 20 years, and in the last 6 mos their service has gone to ****. They always claim to be TWO WEEKS BEHIND and “short staffed”, yet they have the same amount of people behind the counter as they have always had. People NEED their medications, but they don’t seem to care. If you have any other choice, go there. Stay away from this CVS.
