Read the reviews. The reason why this CVS is bad is that the Red line is right there. The Harrison red line stop brings so many criminals to the area. Of course, CVS has to close earlier and have buggy security. Our city must hold itself accountable for putting the business in this situation.By Oscar P (2 weeks ago)NEVER EVER SHOP HERE! They profile blacks as soon as they come in the door! Security follows all blacks around the store! Nothing is ever stocked! And they Close the store whenever they want and totally disregard the set store hours! Today the cashier locked all doors at 9:15pm the store should be open and ready to help all customers until 10pm!!!!! No exceptions!! They consistently close this store early and I know this because I live a block over and if it’s 9pm forget it!!! I hate this CVS sooooo much I’m trying to figure out a way to push all my prescriptions to Walgreens! I’d have to walk 6 extra blocks but Idc I hate this place! The management needs to change because there is CLEARLY terrible leadership, it starts at the TOP! Do yourself a favor and stop shopping here so they can go out of business and maybe we will get a Walgreens to replace it!!!!By Alexis Jackson (4 months ago)This is the first and last time for this CVS OMG I couldn’t find anyone to help but the cashier and she was more interested in her personal conversation than in helping me after that they someone followed me around like I was a thief. Unbelievable never again there is a Walgreens a few blocks down..By Teresa Sigerson-azo (6 months ago)I just left this store and the manager by the name of Octavio was very courteous and helpful! He even suggested that I signed up for the CarePass which saved me $10 on my purchase! He made my shopping experience so wonderful and it makes me glad to be able to have a pleasant customer service experience from time to time instead of always doing the self-checkout!By Greta Gregg (a year ago)NEVER GET YOUR PHOTOS OR FILM PRINTED HERE. The person behind the photo counter was rude & abrasive, & was literally eating chips. She told me that my pick up time was ‘inadequate’ & online orders always ‘mess up.’ She said all of this while eating. It literally took 2 seconds to print out my photos. Terrible customer service, get your photos & film printed elsewhere.By Kirsten B (9 months ago)

They shows on their board that they work continuously from 9 am to 8 pm during workday time while I’m waiting 1 hour behind closed pharmacy for lunch break! If they close pharmacy for 1 hour they should announce on their permanent board!!! I’m waiting for antibiotics and I’m in emergency situation, but they don’t pay attention. They just show their lunch break in temporary board and they remove it when they open their pharmacy so when we come out of their break lunch, we won’t understand that they don’t work continuously. In this way, we don’t have to come during 1 pm to 2pm!!!!By mina goli (a month ago)My experience was great! I had an employee offer to walk me to where I needed to go. The above and beyond services I received at this location are only some of the many reasons I decide to give CVS my business.By Jaeron Mickle (5 months ago)They always got a long line . BUT THE EMPLOYEES ARE HERE. The corporate office or the BBB need to swing by on surprise. Because they lazy!. This line is long every time while the manager does nothing EVERY TIME I AM HERE . I’m irritated by the lack of service and have walked out WITH my items many times before idc ( with paying / putting more than enough money on the counter of course )By N N (a year ago)This CVS is the best. Very clean, every one is super polite. I can I just say the store manager needs a HUGE raise. He deals w/ the craziest people in Chicago and yet he manages to stay 100% professional. One of the nicest guys I’ve met in a long time. Takes his job very seriously, & is very respectful & professional!!By Plain Jane (a year ago)I’ve been using this pharmacy for 2 years, so this is not a one-off issue. If you try to call the pharmacy to speak to a human, you will wait a minimum of 1 hour. That’s the shortest I’ve ever been on hold. Or you’ll be waiting for an hour and it will suddenly disconnect. They claim it’s such a long wait because they get so many calls–and maybe they do–but when you physically go to the pharmacy, the pharm techs are all doing nothing and none of them are on the phone. And when you bring this phone hold issue up to them politely, they don’t care and they don’t apologize. I can’t say enough bad things about this location. The pharmacist needs to seriously revamp their hiring process, because I’ve only had 1 (maybe 2) positive customer experiences in the last 2 years. Do not use this pharmacy if you have any other alternative at your disposal.By Christina Renee (a year ago)

That’s it for our list of the best CVS in Chicago IL! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Cvs Pharmacy at 1228 E. 53rd street. This man who you can see from behind in this photo has been trained to manage this store. He has no good interactive skills and I was told his supervisor is worst off.
People we can no longer allow “people” to get away with this type of behavior and it clearly comes from the top. Stop shopping at this store that only has 2.9 stars and report any negative experiences going forth that’s how change happens!

Had to pick up my prescriptions. They were ready, did not have to wait. The young lady was very nice that greeted and waited on me. A pleasant experience!!
This is the worst pharmacy. They don’t answer the phones. They do not to remove my cats prescriptions from auto refill despute repeated requests to do so. They continue to request refills from the wrong doctor leading to weeks of not having my medications. It doesn’t matter if you speak to them in person or over the phone. Their incompetence is amazing
It’s plain to see that the clinic staff does not care about their patients. I am suffering with strep to the point of bleeding and I show up for my appointment 5 minutes late just to be told I had to leave or reschedule, meanwhile another man walks in for a flu shot with no appointment and is seen right away, as we’re having the aforementioned conversation.
They are so reliant on their systems and yet will bend their so-called stringent rules for relatively easier services. All I wanted was a prescription for the most basic of antibiotics, and time and time again my pleas were met with indifference and frankly rude adherence to a nonexistent set of red tape. I have never felt more abused by an establishment.
My partner and I had our first date here and it couldn’t have gone better. The nutter butters were top notch and the mystery Halloween Reese’s exquisitely seasoned. The 24-hour service can’t be beat, especially given that all the other low quality restaurants in Hyde park close hours earlier. Best dining and date experience I’ve had so far.
