Delicious bakery shoppe located on Oak Street. The pastries and sandwiches are made daily with fresh local ingredients. A variety of vegan and gluten free options as well. Once you open the door there are smiling faces to greet you. Come try this spot you will be highly impressed!!!By Andy (11 months ago)What a fantastic bakery with a great selection of sandwiches! We came here for breakfast and ordered egg o’vegans, cheese grits, and decaf lattes. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was fast and the person who took our order was nice and pleasant. This would certainly be a go-to spot for me if I lived in NOLA.By Heena Patel (8 months ago)Coming into town and need a breakfast place? Are you vegan! Well Breads On Oak needs to be the place you need to hit if you’re visiting New Orleans. Sandwiches are vegan, devious and doesn’t make you feel heavy. They also have the best banquettes in town!By Mandy Leetang (11 months ago)Unique bakery on Oak Street, with actually delicious vegan foods and baked goods, which if experience tells us anything, is quite an impressive feat. The interior space is a little tiny in the front, but there is a little door which leads to either a lovely quaint side patio, or another door leads to a spacious comfortable drawing room with tables and couches and is frankly charming. Of course there is seating out front. Friendly staff, though sometimes the music is annoying. Try the all veggie sandwich: it’s delicious!By Avery Young (3 weeks ago)Yummy. The Vegan Pumpkin Cheddar egg biscuit was delicious with just a kick of heat. The biscuit, although a bit dry, was still worth it. My husband enjoyed his “ham” on toast. I make it a point to come here every time I’m in NOLA. I’m allergic to both eggs & animal dairy products so it’s one a the few times I can safely have breakfast in a restaurant.By LS MR (2 months ago)

We wanted to try something new today and so glad we found this place. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. You can see that they take pride in the food they serve. This place is so clean you can eat off the floor. Can’t wait to come back again!By Dominique Martinez (8 months ago)An amazing bakery to visit. The salads are my favorite! The breakfast sandwich is wonderful as well. I ordered a loaf of cinnamon chip bread to make French toast and it turned out amazing. Something to always look forward to when I go. Be sure to check them out during Mardi Gras. They allowed me to sample different cakes to decide which would fit my taste. I ordered the blueberry flavor. It was a hit!By Megan (4 weeks ago)My first visit to Great Harvest did not disappoint! When I walked in, I was greeted with smiling faces and a warm welcome. The atmosphere is lovely and the restaurant super clean. I tried the Salted Caramel Cookies and oh my!! They were truly the tastiest I have ever had and my family agreed! I also tried the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and although not a huge fan of the pumpkin craze, they were scrumptious and may have changed my mind about the former. I will return, and look forward to trying the soup and sandwiches that I hear are amazing. Great job to the local proprietors for working hard to maintain excellence !!By Rachel Overton (5 months ago)This place is very good . I had a breakfast sandwich from here . It was the Havarti and ham on honey wheat . I add bacon to it. Sandwich tasted like momma made the sandwich after she finished baking some fresh bread. Definitely will return when I come to visit my folks in the Boot!By JASON PHILLIPS (5 months ago)Such a great spot! I absolutely love the atmosphere and the customer service was wonderful too. We bought several bakery items and a pound of their ground coffee blend. We can’t wait to try it all. I was very impressed!By Amanda Courville (a year ago)

Great neighborhood place with the best poboy sandwiches. The bread is fantastic and it’s fun for families as well. I got the catfish my husband got the James Brown and we were more than happy with our selections. We got the small and I know we couldn’t have finished a large. Service was very fast you order at the counte,r go up to the kitchen to get your sodas and food, then out to the patio dining tables. I would highly recommend this place to eat at in New Orleans.
AMAZING food!!! Large and easy free parking. Dog friendly on patio only. Huge Patio to eat under with fans. Can eat inside or outside. Order inside. Restaurant access is near the patio outside and bakery connected to restaurant. Brett P. Waited on us from the Bar and we ate under the patio with tons of shade. Clean and the bathrooms were clean too. No water around sinks because someone was actively tending to it. Overall great service. Friendly staff. Clean place. Easy parking. Best of all Dog Friendly. Oh yes and this place has been around since 1911. Very historical.
We loved our NOLA IPA, bloody Mary, and James Brown sandwich. We each got a large but ate the first half before taking the pic. Bread was phenomenal. We actually came to NOLA specifically to visit this restaurant.
Tried both the Oyster and BBQ Shrimp Po-Boys. Got my shrimp with added beef gravy and MOMMA!!! We had previously seen a video with Parkway featured so when we noticed we were nearby we immediately drove over. We got there before the lunch rush and got our food quickly. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available as well. The oysters were so tender and flavorful which is a great sign of their freshness. The fresh shrimp were so well seasoned and the batter clung very well. Both sandwiches were overstuffed and we had plenty of oysters and shrimp to enjoy after the sandwich was gone.
We’ll be back, guaranteed!!
What a place! Food is definitely heavy but so delicious. But the atmosphere there is everything. I’m a European and if you are traveling from abroad this is the absolute MUST to visit. However, I was traveling with an American friend and he was just as happy to be there so I guess it’s a vibe of this place which unbelievable.
Keep in mind that there is a waiting line. We were there for lunch and waited for 20 min to order and than another 20 min for our order to get ready. However, being inside is a treat so go there and enjoy yourself. This place is made for that
Go! Don’t think about it just go and try it. From the food to the atmosphere, it’s all 5 stars. We went during lunch and there is a wait time. We waited about 20 min to order and maybe 15 to 20 for the food but it was all worth it. Lots of flavors and big portions. We definitely could’ve shared but we wanted to try different items since we aren’t from there. We had the shrimp poor boy, the James brown poor boy, chicken and sausage Jambalaya, and the mixed french fries. There are a few tables indoors but lots of covered seating outside. The staff is super friendly, plenty of parking and the bathrooms are clean. Overall such a great experience and will be back when in New Orleans.
