This cafe serves fair trade coffee and is a Social Benefit Corporation working to end youth homelessness. I had a good BLT and banana bread here as well as a tasty coffee. Great community and family friendly atmosphere here and they use compostable straws, bags, and encourage using reusable cups for drinks to-go. I liked the spaces they had inside as well as the nice area on the side for outdoor seating.By Amanda Drews (7 months ago)Desserts are always a treat, but they didn’t stick the landing this time. For some reason, the bacon for my brother and I ended up borderline burnt. I like it more crispy vs fatty, but I’m pretty sure nobody likes brick bacon. I’m talking extra, extra, extraaaa crispy. Maybe they cook forgot to remove the bacon, but it should never have left the kitchen. We also ordered a hot chocolate drink and assumed that it would be brought to us like the food. Unfortunately it was not and it just sat at the counter until after the food came out. What made it worse was that instead of just bringing us the drink, we were told it was at the counter. Like, you know who’s ordered what and if you know we forgot, how about having the courtesy of bringing us the drink with the food? Would definitely go back for desserts but not food.By Koua Her (a year ago)For lunch — Chicken noodle soup and a mixed greens side salad.
Food – A savory soup with plenty of veggies and chicken. The mixed greens brought a freshness to the plate with the variety of greens and garnishes. Top it off with a light oil and vinaigrette dressing for a warm edge to the salad.
Staff – The staff here is always cordial and friendly. They have taken the time to help me make decisions on food choices and drink options. They bring your food out and provide a clean environment for casual dining.
Atmosphere – The seating is varied with table and benches, stand-alone tables, and outdoor/patio options. The vibe is chill and laid back. People engaged in muted conversation and no overpowering music make this a hotspot for a business lunch or doing some options trading.
Amenities – Plug-ins are available on a stand-up ledge and there are also a few around the indoor seating area. Bring an extension cord if it is busy. The restrooms are clean and stocked. Always clean tables. You might fight with a few gnats as you enjoy the live foliage.
By Jacob Tapia (a year ago)Good food. Love the concept (tax and tip worked into the prices, order at the counter) chili bean sauce of the burrito was good. Large portion sizes, we could have split one breakfast burrito. Nice staff.By Andrea Hannem (a year ago)I love Butter’s mission and atmosphere. They’re a no-tipping establishment that offers affordable delicious meals in house or on compostable or reusable take away dishes. I’m most often there for their cold brew, tea, or brunch. On my most recent visit with my dogs, they each got the kids egg island which they lovedBy Hannah Schewe (9 months ago)

The service was quick, the workers were great, and of course, the food was delicious. I had a half order of biscuits and gravy with an over easy egg on top. The gravy was well seasoned but not overly so. All in all it was a solid dish. It had been a while since I’d been here due to the pandemic, but I’m glad to be able to support a local business.By happy gnome (a year ago)I started coming here when I took my vehicle across the street for oil changes at Steve’s Tire. You can order breakfast, relax and by the time you’re done your vehicles ready. I usually get the Standard Breakfast with lunchbox oatmeal toast, stand up crisp bacon and scrambled eggs with swiss or 2 eggs basted over medium. They prepare eggs here perfectly every time without fail. I have brought the biscuit and mushroom gravy for my mom many times and she loves it. The Kolaches are pretty good but I’m an old fashioned Scandinavian bakery type as far as the bakery case goes. I wish they would bring back the Polish jelly filled doughnuts (Paczkis). I think they make their own jam and it’s awesome. The people are fantastic that work here and they keep it clean and fresh. The tea they have is always very fresh tasting. A excellent start for your day.By North Star Mini Storage (a year ago)I just recently moved back to the town cities from a decade in Chicago and was super pumped to hit up Sunstreet. Love all the love and detail poured into the atmosphere and baked goods. Having just moved into the Kingfield area so glad to have one of my favorite breakfast spots in the Twin Cities right in my back yard!By Nate Rock (a year ago)Found nice cafe for breakfast:) Cinnamon roll is too much sugar for me, but gravy sauce was so good!By Sayu C (7 months ago)Quick service, fun crew and the quant spot smells amazing 👌🏼. I just love the smell of freshly baked bread. Lol. They are open a few days a week, however when you get a chance to get to them. Probably a quick brunch spot!By Nabeel Ozman (8 months ago)

This shop was super cute, and the staff was really nice. I thought all the desserts looked really good. I didn’t care for the salted caramel or dark chocolate cupcake, the snickerdoodle, the triple chocolate, or peanut butter chocolate cookies. I REALLY liked the tea cookie, and the oatmeal cookie.
Got some cookies, bars and mini cheesecake for a party. Everything was delicious and eaten up so quick! Favorites were the chocolate chip cookies (huge), lemon bars and butter bars. They recently added ice cream to their menu! Staff were friendly and fast even though they were very busy. We will be back!!
I got an Apple Cream Cheese Danish, Raised Glazed Donut, Mankato Butter Bar, Tea Cake, Cinnamon Roll and Maple Pecan Danish. Everything tasted just as good as they looked but the Butter Bar really surprised me the most. I also really liked the Cinnamon Roll too, they put cream cheese in it which is very different!
Oh my goodness, I was recommended to this bakery by a friend and oh boy they were not wrong! I was welcomed with a smile and a hello as soon as I walked through the door which is a terrific way to start a shopping experience of any kind. A vast selection in types of baked goods as well as varying flavors of each type. Prices are quite reasonable and most importantly everything I bought for my family was delectable. I highly suggest the chocolate cream paczki and pretty much any cupcake they make. This place is a bonafide gem!
Pricing is well worth what you get.
Great variety! No vegan options for pastries from what I saw. Would be a huge plus if they added a few.
Coffee has milk alternatives.
