  1. Highly advise against using the pharmacy at this location. Was there to pick up a prescription for insulin one day and the girl (not a pharmacist) was having trouble finding it and was looking through baskets throughout the pharmacy. I told her it would be stored in the refrigerator where insulin always needs to be stored before opening. She had the nerve to argue that insulin didn’t need to be stored in the refrigerator. As a diabetic of 20 years I was shocked at what I was hearing and a little nervous about the safety of medicine I receive from here. Upon hearing this the actual pharmacist came over and corrected her and said insulin is ALWAYS stored in refrigerator. Fast forward to today a Saturday and I go into wait for my prescription. As I’m waiting the tech starts pulling down the pharmacy gate saying they are closed after I’ve just stood waiting for five minutes. After this latest occurrence I am switching all of my medications from here after being a loyal customer for 25 years. I would highly advise that diabetics do not use this pharmacy as you can never be sure if insulin is handled safely and stored correctly. I will never step foot in this CVS again.

  2. The pharmacy is awful. 95 % of the time the pharmacy doesn’t contact to confirm an order ready for pick up.
No one ever answers the phone when you call and even after waiting a significant amount of time to pick up order, it’s never ready for pick up.

  3. I’ve had nothing but poor customer service at this location. They have lost my prescriptions, said they couldn’t call a doctor’s office, etc. I do not recommend them.

  4. Literally the worst CVS in all of Schenectady. I’ve never had issues at a CVS until I moved here and started using this location. Multiple times they’ve claimed my child’s prescriptions are not in the system yet other stores seem to have 0 issue finding them. Today I needed to pick up a med for my child and was basically lied to by the Pharamacist saying she’d need to get authorization from a doctor and it might be a while when in reality she just didn’t feel comfortable doing it. Why lie when you can just be honest. Completely unprofessional and wrong. Just go to the other ones in Schenectady.

  5. prescription ready within a couple hours, received text & picked up quickly through drive-thru. no complaints here!

I love the people who work here. They are so helpful and do the best they can in such horrible times. I feel terrible how understaffed this place is because of the pandemic and how little understanding the customers are because of it.
The front store staff are always so willing to help me find what I need. I’m not very good with the self checkout and they always help me with such patience. I watch the people in the pharmacy run around doing the best they can with the little staff they have. Thank you to the people who show up and work hard dealing with everything to help me and get my prescriptions ready! People should be more considerate to the stressed and understaffed workers (front and pharmacy) who are trying their best to manage a store, run covid testing, covid, shingles and more shots, filling prescriptions, calling doctors, answering the many phone calls and much more with cutting the hours of pharmacists (I miss Leanne!) making it mainly one at a time with only a couple technicians working in a busy pharmacy. If kindergartners can learn patience and waiting in line a grown adult should be able to as well. They obviously have too much put on them with such little staff and it is not their fault at all and they do the best they can. Thank you all!

Went in this afternoon and customer in front of me using self checkout but an issue. The machine would say someone will be with you shortly. It repeatedly said this. To the left were 3 employees. Unsure if the 2 were new. But they all proceeded with what they were doing and customer approached them and they still carried on. The one worker finally came over helped her and then said I can take you down here. I had 2 UPS items, 1 she could help the other not because I had the QR code and not an actual label. More customers lining up, 1 customer knew her name and said hey you have a back up and she said well I am busy. No other staff there to help?? Just crazy. Will not go there anymore. Only went because my main store was closed due to plumbing issue. Management needs to care.

The worst CVS location that I’m even aware of, first of all this location doesn’t like to use their secondary drive-thru Lane even during normal conditions and now that the covid is ending or has ended they continue to keep the lane blocked with cones and signs having traffic built up sometimes out into the street of Chrysler Avenue, many complaints have gone through still nothing being done. If you can’t sit or stand for any periods of time I definitely don’t recommend this location. Update they continue to make statements that the chute is broken yet manager says it’s working fine. 10/2022 Spoke to Manager personally and she said if anyone states the outer lane is closed to ask for manager because it is always supposed to be open!

Absolutely horrible! It took three times of ringing out my entire order before it actually worked!!

Busy store && staff, including managers, being absolutely clueless as to what they’re supposed to do and how to properly care for customers!!I wouldn’t recommend going here!
    🏥💊🥼🙂🛍️🏪😷💉💊🙂

Also, I wouldn’t recommend using there Pharmacy, there prescription costs are higher than any other pharmacy around! Sometimes they only have one pharmacist on at a time, they are closed numerous times throughout the day making an inconvenient to pick up prescriptions!

    I received excellent customer service
    today (11/15 at 10:30 am)
at this State Street, Schenectady CVS.

The item I called about the night before was indeed held for me behind the counter. I was pleased since it is an hard to find gingerbread decorating kit.

I checked out with several items. The cashier/employee was helpful, patient, and knowledgeable about store products.
She even brought me a shopping cart when I asked.

I did not bring my own bags, so she gave me two of the paper bags provided by CVS. One of them ripped (no fault of hers) as I was exciting the store. The cashier “flew” over, with a new bag, and picked the items off the floor for me, a senior citizen.

I appreciated the concern on her part and her assistance. I really wish I had gotten her name because she deserves recognition.

The store was clean and neat. The staff was interested in excellent customer service.
It was a pleasure to shop here rather than at my regular Niskayuna Balltown Road CVS store.

I wish I could give a zero star rating. I will never step foot in there again. The pharmacist hung up the phone on me. I went to the store and asked for my prescription and asked who hung up on me. She screamed from behind the counter that she did…I asked for her name and who is in charge of her, she screamed “God is in charge of me,that’s who!” She continued provoking me. I could go on about the experience but the bottom line in that the pharmacy should be shut down. They are doing a disservice to the community. Every customer there has to wait an unacceptable amount of time for their prescriptions. A man in the parking lot stopped to tell me his mom had surgery the day before and he still wasn’t able to pick up her medication. Very sad. But, please close your doors and send customers elsewhere to get what they need without ridiculous wait times and disgruntled, toxic staff

This pharmacy is the worst. HELEN, the pharmacist, was acting very racist, judging ppl, not only myself but others in line and even refused to give my CARE MANAGER my medication. I’ve called corporate several times to complain and they do nothing. I switched to a different location but it’s so much farther for me, and being disabled makes it hard. Unfortunately my insurance requires me to go here, otherwise I’d never step foot in a cvs again. There is always some issue, but HELEN, at 2037 state st cvs is the worst kind of person there is.

You guys need a new pharmacy staff. Pushy and rude. Drive thru is a joke. The day time guy that does the window is nice though. Everyone else 👎🏻

This Pharmacy is just “ hard “ to deal with. They rarely answer the phone at the pharmacy and if they do they put you on hold. Went in there one day to buy one simple item and there’s no cashier available to check out. I went back to the pharmacy and was told, “ they have a self checkout “ up front. I’m trying to be fair and equitable here but frankly, this store is a PITA to deal with.
