This place is seriously understaffed. I dropped by and tried to get my flu shot, advised to make an appointment in advance which I did and came back on the same day. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time and was made to wait for more than 30 minutes. The lady at the pharmacy register counter told me the pharmacist was on the phone and she made me to wait for another 30 minutes. I spent more than 1 hour for just trying to get one shot. What’s the point of making an appointment ? Their service and the pharmacist/immunizer is very unprofessional. They don’t care about their customers. I wonder how this place is still in business. Never come to this CVS store again.By Anonymous User (a year ago)The in person service is okay but it is *literally* impossible to reach them by phone. I shouldn’t have to head into the pharmacy just to ask a question about a prescription the app cannot provide. The pharmacy and the front end will leave you on the phone for hours and never answer. Tested this on 5 separate days, same result. They will not answer the phone.By Mark Barnett (2 months ago)The only question is whether the pharmacy is handled so badly because of incompetent staff or incompetent management.
Took more than a week and two calls to the district manager to get someone on the phone about refilling a simple prescription. Once filled, took more than 30 minutes in line.
The store manager is perfectly comfortable ignoring the phone as well.
I will avoid using any CVS at all of it can be avoided at all in the future after dealing with this store.
By Rick H (4 months ago)You’re probably wondering how can A CVS get such bad reviews across the board- here’s why. There is always a long, slow line no matter the time of day (but it’s never actually busy at all), prices gauge you (everything’s literally double what you expect), and the employees are just not staffed well or trained enough to run an efficient store.By Luke Morrisroe (2 months ago)Please read other reviews but the pharmacy is terrible. Expect to wait in like for a long time. I watched a woman ask the pharmacist for 20 minutes what address to pick up her prescription at and the pharmacist wouldn’t not give her the information. He told her to pick up her prescription in San Mateo and when she asked for the exact address he became hostile.By Rashanda Dauphine (4 months ago)

This pharmacy is pretty good. It isn’t crazy in there and they have reasonable staffing so the lines aren’t enormous and parking is available every time I’ve come (I avoid peak times). I’ve been going regularly for a year and I like the pharmacist. Obviously from the other reviews, there are problems that pop up, but I’ve never had the kinds of trouble these folks seem to. I’d also point out that this is the CVS specialty pharmacy for the area, and that’s an important service. I would give it five stars but they sometimes have strange stock shortages – and it doesn’t appear to be isolated incidents.By J B (4 months ago)Pharmacy is always busy, but the staffs seemed to work as hard as they could. There is a lunch break between 1:30-2:00 pm for the staffs to be able to enjoy their lunch uninterruptedly so if you come during that time slot, you will see that the pharmacy gate is still close.By Tap Tappy (2 months ago)I came in to buy some nail polish and saw some that was 2 for $5. I picked out two polish and went to go pay. The nail polish rung up as $3 each. I mentioned to the cashier that all the pricing and signs say 2 for $5. The cashier said well it’s ringing up as $3 each and that’s the price.By Tofu (8 months ago)ZERO stars for this pharmacy. I surely do understand it’s not an easy job these days but the amount of times I’ve received the run-around then subsequent rude, short, put-upon responses and behavior from the pharmacy staff is just too many. Unfortunately, I’m forced to use CVS by my health plan. I will, however, be finding another location. I’d use mail order but, you guessed it, CVS does not offer mail order for 2 of 3 medications I need. Sigh. Good luck out there, everyone!By mj bogdanov (11 months ago)If getting your medication is important to you, do not come to this pharmacy. They will treat you like garbage, like they could not care whether you live or die — literally. If your medication is life saving they still won’t answer the phone, they still won’t put in a request for refill to your doctor for you — they will just let you die. It’s unethical and reprehensible. Put the care for your important health somewhere better.By Letta H (a year ago)

That’s it for our list of the best CVS in San Francisco CA! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
Went for passport photo which was a service on its website. The stuff was inpatient and told us the camera was broken long time ago. I would suggest removing the non existing service from the website or fix the camera!! Especially you had the time to do so!
Pharmacy closed and would not let me pick up my prescription despite having been in line for 15+ minutes prior to closure. Do not send prescriptions here if they are time sensitive.
CVS on Fillmore St., San Francisco treated me perfectly this morning (12-16-22). I am very sick with a virus & had to come out to get Dr recommend meds. Alvin helped me with kindness, care & professionalism. He found everything I needed & made sure I was set. He was so very nice & that means a lot to a sick Senior like me. He noted coupons that saved me $, too. I am very lucky he was there.
Review is mainly for pharmacy. Don’t go here if you have time sensitive medication. I’ve finally decided to switch locations after so many instances of waiting on prescriptions. Quite often I’d come after work — won’t be ready until 7pm. No big deal, I’ll come back later or just come tomorrow. Show up the next day and “we’re still getting it together”. Okay, well it was supposed to be ready last night, can you get it in 15? I feel bad because the customer facing workers are just trying to do their job and are probably overworked.
But I can’t tell you how many convos are overheard while I wait that are of the same vein. Frustrated, but patient people have the same conversation about trying to pick up the previous day and being told it would ready today. Occasionally the pharmacist hears me check in after my script (should have) been ready for 3 days, and then he prioritizes to get it filled. I have no idea how their operations work — but they clearly don’t have it figured out and the workers checking in scripts have to suffer people’s (understandable) frustrations.
I’ve been able to keep my cool because it’s usually just an inconvenience of time looking for parking and it not be ready. But my health is not impacted by a missed script. I worry for those who have more serious needs.
If you have an ups package says delivered there and ready for pick up, they don’t have it. The staff did not check, says it’s not there, ups doesn’t deliver on Saturday. The manager also did not look, told me it’s not there. Called UPS and UPS told me it’s there for pick up. I also was home all day and didn’t see the ups tried to ring the door at all but just leave a slip. So who’s lying ? Who’s paying for all these?? Who’s being yelled at? Who is being told one thing and different thing ? Your customer.
