If you need a prescription filled in the same WEEK you dropped it off, do not use this place because it takes them a minimum of 2 weeks to fill an order. I can’t say any of the staff are rude because they are not. Now if you want to talk about competency, you better find another pharmacy. I have yet to get medicine filled correctly. I take the same medicines every month and every month its something different with these folks down at the CVS pharmacy. They offer to put me on a “sync” so i can get all my prescriptions at the same time and i thought that was great. That way I only have to make one trip a month, but thats been a few months ago and they can’t seem to get that right. I have had to ask where one of my prescription is every single time I have been there because every time i go one is missing. They tell me they can fill it and to come back later that afternoon. I hate making unnecessary trips and they keep me running back and forth to pick up medicine. They even offered to put me on a 90 day supply to even further slow down my trips to the pharmacy but I haven’t heard anything else about that and I am still getting the 30 day supply. I will wait and see if one day they can get me all my medicines at the same time and then i will bring up the 90 day supply issue. They just can’t seem to get anything right. Doctor called in a prescription before 3 pm and at 7 pm it still was not ready. They told me they were too busy and I should try back the next day. Another local CVS closed and all that business was transferred to them and no additional staffing was added. They were currently at a two day back log on filling prescriptions. A pharmacist at this CVS decided that a prescription for a new medication shouldn’t be issued while I was taking an anti-depressant that I’ve been taking successfully for years. Both were prescribed by the same highly respected family doctor. She/he didn’t contact the physician to discuss the issue – just made the decision not to fill it. No one contacted me or the clinic to advise that it wouldn’t be filled and when I arrived to pick it up, I was told that it was never sent by the doctor. It was only after the prescription was sent to CVS for the second time that I discovered the truth.
I tried to find out which pharmacist was responsible but when I asked, the person I spoke with just kept saying “It’s being filled now” as though that was the issue.
I understand that pharmacists often know more about drug interactions than physicians do BUT to arbitrarily decide not to fill a prescription WITHOUT contacting the prescribing doctor for discussion is totally disrespectful, unreasonable and hopefully, outside of acceptable protocol.
Note to supervisor: If this concerns you, and it should, this occurred on 3/10/22.
Absolute worst pharmacy. When I called to ask if a prescription was ready for my sick child, the pharmacist or tech said they were out of the medication and I needed to call around to find another pharmacy that had it in stock. Pharmacy tech had an attitude and hung up on me when I questioned her about this process. Called Love’s in Diamondhead and they were out as well, but offered to call the physician and get the prescription changed and then called me back after hours to let me know they had the prescription changed and would be ready in the morning. Now why couldn’t CVS offer this same level of service??!! Will be moving all of my prescriptions to Love’s!
Not enough staff.
Just received a text that my 3 prescriptions are ready to pick up. So
I drove there. Sign on the door said, “CLOSED DUE TO ILLNESS.” This is not a good Business practice.
The pharmacy staff is making an effort. I’ve a complicated refill situation and with some prompting (and some insistence) they have found out-of-the-box solutions to keep me as healthy as I can be.
I like using their CareCard for discounts and mobile app for notices & alerts.
This is the worst pharmacy ever. I would rather pay extra cost than deal with them. Sartins is great, friendly and fast. Very helpful when needed.
