I am a pro-choice mama. 10 years ago I stood in front of this building, and the building next door, Planned Parenthood. I went in both places. PP poked and prodded and tested me and told me to take some condoms. They told me that if I wanted to have an abortion, I would have to drive to Chicago, scheduled out several weeks from now(potentially too late) and I would have to pay nearly $900 that I didn’t have. I cried and they left me in the room alone. I knew if I couldn’t afford the 900 for an abortion, how the heck could I afford to raise a child? Out of desperation, I walked next door into the Care Clinic and these ladies hugged me and loved me and cried and prayed with me. They showed me my baby, had us listen to his beating heart, and helped me get insurance to get into the best gynecologist in Marquette. They gave me maternity clothes, comfy shoes, and hope. When my son was born, it didn’t stop. They bestowed us with a beautiful basinette, a stroller and a pack n play. Piles of clothes and toys and teething rings. Diapers for days. They taught me how to nurse. Breast pumps and nursing bras and good formula when I eventually switched 6 months later. They gave me a safe place. A place where I could actually make a CHOICE instead of being forced into what felt like the only option.
These ladies are here for you. They will help you. They will take care of you and your baby. I don’t care if the church is behind it, because honestly, that is right where they should be. They saved more than one life that day.
And it was MY choice.

Care Clinic wants to help, and they’re doing things with ultrasounds and other ways of caring for the whole person – the love they show Mamas extends past the baby’s birth. They have diapers and wipes, formula, toys, clothes, blankets… everything anyone would need. Kid friendly. A lot. Very very kid friendly. With that said, we’ve always been treated with respect and dignity and Drs. Dehlin have personalities perfectly suited to their profession. We always feel welcome and the rest of the staff is really top notch. Recently my wife and I added a kiddo to our family. This pregnancy was the smoothest of the three. While each pregnancy was unique in it’s challenges, my wife was more empowered this go around and this was a benefit in a number of ways. We were on vacation and needed to take our young daughter in to Urgent Care. My husband and I, both Urgent Care providers ourselves, were so impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of the staff. I truly just had the best experience with Angela and the staff at the clinic. I was having difficulty getting into any other doctors in town and I’m so glad I decided to stop and try here. A wonderful team of Staff and Medical Professionals. In the course of my visit I saw multiple providers, each of whom were extremely competent, professional, concerned for my health, and friendly & respectful. I’m VERY happy that this clinic is where the VA sent me for my urgent care need.
Since NMU’s health center requires covid testing for anything, and they only test when I have class, I decided to try this place out. Reluctantly, I might add since the other reviews worried me.. I was also unsure whether or not they’d be able to take my out of state insurance, they can!
I called first since it was my first time going here, and the receptionist was very nice, and able to answer all my questions and ensured me what to do once I got there. Since I had “covid-like” symptoms, I waited in my vehicle (~30 mins) instead of the lobby. They called to ask me some questions and did the test right from my vehicle! Very nice! Every staff member I interacted with was very friendly and knowledgeable! And the wait time (at around 10:15am) wasn’t worse than any other clinic I’ve been to. In less than 2 hours I was back home with my prescription!
The Doctor & nurses here were very caring, professional & complete in checking over me & my child when we were not feeling well. I just wanted to make sure our illness wasn’t dropping to our lungs. Glad it didn’t. The pediatric drs we’re booked that day so I went here. I highly recommend this place when needed. We got in rather quickly (went at a slower time).
