Went to the DMH cafeteria this is the only place in macon county that you can get a salad the way you want it ,not on a plate covered with seran wrap we are definitely coming back. This is a hidden place but well worth the time love it the wife and l will be coming back soon😀👍well we went back 3times same thing the food was good the workers so nice and allways spotless and our friends with us thay can’t believe it’s a hospital love it😃.By Shelton Laskin (6 months ago)The intake staff and nurses are always very friendly. Never had any staff related issues ever. However, this hospital in general has consistently been negligent in providing appropriate medical care for my family over the years. In 2015 they almost killed me by not listening when I told them I believed I had an obstruction..which I did and needed emergency surgery the very next day. I went back 3 times over 2 weeks before they finally admitted me.
In 2018 they withheld medical information after removing my daughters appendix when it wasn’t necessary. She actually ended up having Crohn’s which they documented in her records but never told us. For months after her appendix surgery she continually lost weight, missed a month of school and ended up being hospitalized twice.
In 2005, while giving birth to my daughter, this hospital had to call in a doctor from another hospital because they simply weren’t able to deliver my baby. They literally told me they weren’t sure what to do. I was shocked. They had me pushing before I was dilated which caused unnecessary pain because they refused me medication. After my daughter was finally born this hospital misdiagnosed her with having sleep apnea and overdosed her on strong medications that caused her to have seizures. I caught them shredding parts of her records as the helicopter arrived to fly her to STL Children’s Hospital. They almost killed her and covered it up afterwards.
On 10/5/2022 my grandbaby was admitted for RSV. The baby unit left a lot to be desired. They didn’t have any of the little things that every other baby/children’s units have. They didn’t even have any toys to keep him occupied. He was given some kind of deformed looking stuffed animal and that was it. I sat with him for approx 4 hours and never seen one nurse or staff even walk past our room. They worked double time coming in at night keeping him awake and grouchy though. A female nurse in the ER almost dropped him off the bed while transporting him to imaging. Unreal. They really need to do better with this unit.

I am at your facility for blood type & cross. I have been waiting just to be registered for 1 1/2+ hr . Others who had a scheduled appointment were all taken ahead of anyone wanting lab work done.
Foolish waste of time as those in the registration area had to walk out to the waiting area to call someone’s name. The pagers had worked quite well for many, many years. While having the staff walk out to the waiting area IS good for their health, it is a waste of time when you’re already hard pressed for people.
While the staff is using ‘only’ a first or last name to ID the person to be registered is not a HIPPA violation, pagers were much more private.By Jo Curtis (3 months ago)I had 3 doctors tell me that I needed to get my gallbladder removed, than later on they said it was fine. Never go here unless you absolutely have to! The staff are extremely unprofessional and lack proper training or knowledge. I recently was referred by my dentist and doctor to stop by to get a prescription for pain meds and a z pack as amoxicillin was not working on my tooth infection. They informed me that there was no actual doctor on staff and the best they had was a NP. This staff was also rude to me and other patrons in the waiting area. I’m a disable Army veteran and will be informing my Care Connections Manager and IDPH about this as this is a partnered location for VA services and is unacceptable.
Also the outcome was just a NSAID and Amoxicillin. Neither where effective for my treatment and resulted in me going to the ER to receive proper care. They also failed to properly exam or record information. I also suspect I will have issues with their billing as they didn’t seem to know how to process the insurance properly. Both office staff and medical needs extensive training and they need a real doctor leading the clinic.The office staff talked loudly about other patients and inappropriate material and the medical staff lacked basic knowledge on antibiotics and how different classes of them function for uses. The NP also failed to do anywhere near a proper exam or record recording. Extremely worrisome for anyone experiencing a medical emergency they are unaware of at this place would just send you to die at home while the collect a payment.

We were waited on as soon as we walked in. They took us right back to a room and a nurse came right in to care for us. X-ray was taken and read. Dr came right in to explain X-ray to us. Everyone was so pleasant and caring. We were very pleased and would recommend anyone to come there.
Excellent experience. I was visiting from out of town and began to have I’ll symptoms… the nurse and doctor were very nice and supportive. The doctor clearly explained her findings in detail and discussed various medications that she could prescribe… I truly appreciated their professionalism !
Unfortunately, since I moved here in April, I have had to visit this facility twice. I have no family around, and 3 toddlers 4 and under. ..the first visit was due to my youngest falling on steps and needing stitches! I was so afraid…but I came in and Betsy, the RN, took care of us with such compassion and kindness. She took care of my son, but also myself as I was losing it as a mother…
Today, we had to come back again (I have 3 boys under 4…enough said maybe?), and I was freaking out again! As soon as I saw Betsy, I was instantly relieved!! I had already trusted her in a similar situation….she is absolutely incredible!!!
Also, from the moment I walked in panicked, I was greeted with a friendly and friendly receptionist. So sweet and caring….there was another associate named Lisa I believe, that assisted in my son’s care. Hands down a fantastic facility and staff. I’m a medical professional myself, and have been so impressed with the care I have received here. Thank you all!
We got right in and everyone we dealt with was friendly and personable. The provider spent a good amount of time with us and really talked and listened to my daughter about what was going on. She explained things to her so she could understand. Will definitely use this location from now on!
All the staff that I interacted with was Excellent. The Nurse Practitioner is very knowledgeable and caring!! She takes the time to listen and explains everything with GREAT detail! I took my Granddaughter there after several attempts to get her treated. She also has treated my Mom and my Mom was very impressed. I would DEFINITELY recommend 👍
