Just had my first visit with Dr. Strobel, yesterday. Besides the usual “fill in your history” sheet, Dr. Strobel asked several times about “anything else I should know” and had specific questions about things that can be missed. My wife and I both saw him and he had some great ways of explaining health processes in illustrations that make it easily understood. This place is a joke! I stressed that my son is out of his medication and they have changed his dates to be seen. Now his doctor is leaving and they will not see him until March! That means he will be not on his meds for over month! This is medication that you cannot just stop taking!
I have avoided going to this clinic for years! Last time I went, I was made to wait over 3 hours (one hour in the waiting room and two hours in an exam room). It took yelling from the room I was in for someone to remember I was there. Other times, being charged for tests I did not need when I already knew what was wrong and told them exactly what was wrong, but still ran tests without my authorization. Once open, go to the minute clinic out at Hy-Vee! Way faster and you’ll actually be seen on time and not pushed back hours because every child with a cold takes priority.
STAY AWAY, this place is a nightmare!!! Have family friends that took there aging parents to this hospital both with different cases of pneumonia! One was admitted because of covid and his family was told that they would never see him again unless he walked out of the hospital on his own. They would not even let 1 family member visit him. The mother who does not have the covid shot because of religious beliefs was told that they can not help her and that maybe she can go home and pray to God to help her. Health care at it’s finest!!
So tonight I had tug a war with my cpap machine while I was sleeping and my air hose lost. So I contacted the only place I could think of to get a replacement hose at this hour at night in a small town of Austin Minnesota, called the Mayo Clinic Healthcare. The sleep department on call nurse told me that not being able to use my cpap for a couple of nights was not considered life Threatening, No matter how I looked at it. Very interesting due to I’ve only been on it for how long and I know why I use it. I figure she must be a gambler. If I don’t get my sleep and nod off while driving even for that split second, I hope it’s not her family or anyones family that is in front of me.
Life Threatening, let that sink in. For me or for your family.
