They have great coffee here. they use great coffee machines. the smoked salmon was a bit salty for my taste. Espressos and lattes apparently closes around 3. The people who work in the late afternoon are really nice.
(Additional visits) I tried their tomato soup which was just amazing. Steel cut oatmeal was ok. The BLT is great if you add the extra egg. Coffee so far is the best.By Hannah (8 months ago)Great vibes and food. I love the homemade biscuit egg sandwich. Low price for a small portion so get two if you’re starving. Wouldn’t rave about the coffee but it’s fine in a pinch. The grandma style pizzas are solid. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but it fills up on weekend mornings after 10am or so. Also look out for their free movie screenings, I went to see Spirited Away and had a blast. This will be my go to cafe from now on!By Galen Oettel (8 months ago)This is a nice breakfast place. I really loved the vibe and design of the restaurant. And I liked how I could study there because the atmosphere was so chill.I just didn’t get why it was so expensive because I had an egg sandwich with cheese for $9 (no coffee or drink).
I wanted to try the famous biscuits but they were baked with bacon and I couldn’t find a vegan option.
By Sahar Bayounis (9 months ago)The smoked salmon sandwich was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and the venue had a good vibe. It cost around $12 and took about 15 minutes to prepare the order. The inside has lots of cozy seating and the patrons seemed friendly. This place is conveniently located near where I work and live and I will definitely be visiting again.**Went back and got some Green tea, coffee and the tuna sandwich. FYI, no public WiFi if planning to work here.***
By Elias Chelala (8 months ago)Delicious made from scratch biscuit breakfast sandwich. Their creations are original and tasty. The coffee is also good as well as the pastries.Order in advance or be patient to wait in line specially during the weekends.
Plenty of seating options inside and outside.

We had a blast in this little shop! We bought so many breads and pastries and they were delicious!!! The shop is small, but when you enter you get to watch the bakers through windows making the breads and pastries and pulling fresh ones out of ovens. They host a variety of savory and sweet treats. They also serve crafted coffee and tea beverages that can be customized. The inner store also has a large assortment of pickled foods, fresh dried pastas, oils, herbs and much more. If you want a neat little bakery that makes you feel like you’re a world away stop here!By Ashley Nibbe (4 months ago)this place is so cool! fun to be able to watch people make fresh bread. The pastries we fabulous. i would love to see a lemon scone. overall wonderful inside and out. cool market vibe inside tooBy Leslie Williston (a year ago)Stopped here on my way home from American University and it was hands down the best breakfast place I have been to in the city thus far. The store is so cute, there’s everything you could imagine in stock. The employees were so warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. My mom and I left with 2 gourmet bagel sandwiches and a few pastries for the road. I will be making this a regular spot when I move to the city!By Sedona Reilly (9 months ago)Ordered online for pickup. It was easy and my order was ready quickly. This was around 9am on a Saturday. The croissants were buttery, flaky and delicious. It was bit smashed, but that didn’t take away from the taste. I got the gravlox bagel. It was salty, savory and tangy. I had never been inside before so it would have been nice to know where the pickup orders were located.By Tan Sav (a year ago)It was my first time at Bread Furst, and I’m impressed. Their baguette is top notch, the second best baguette in the DMV area, which is a bold statement. We tried a few pastries that were also delicious. I love the open area and how you can see them making the baguettes from scratch – great experience. The only downside is that around noon, they had run out of multiple items that we wanted to try, and also several pastry items were not labeled (no name or description) so had to ask multiple times what each thing was (they weren’t obvious items, or if they were, the flavor wasn’t obvious). Other than that, the patio is pretty, but you unfortunately inhale car exhaust from the car wash that’s adjacent to the cafe.By Mark Blanchard (a year ago)

A lovely little bakery with many different flavors of cupcakes. They also sell coffee and tea on the other side of the counter. The staff mentioned that carrot cake and strawberry are two popular flavors in their cupcakes. Carrot cake is pretty delicious, but strawberry is just okay for me. Although I don’t like frosting in general, my friend said that their frosting felt freshly made and he actually enjoyed it. Overall, the drinks and cake are a bit too sweet for me, but I guess it might be just fine for others.
I love coming here on special occasions and enjoying a cupcake or two with friends and family. Every cupcake I’ve tried has been such a treat full of flavor and just so moist. They really nail the cupcake to icing ratio. They offer seasonal coffee flavors as well as cupcake flavors. It’s a fun bakery with both indoor and outdoor seating. If you plan to stop by be prepared to wait in line. The line moves quickly and it’s definitely worth the wait!
One of my favorite spots when in DC. The cupcakes are so moist and your definitely getting your moneys worth! Before the pandemic the line would go down the street, but since they close earlier you can walk right in. They also have other treats other than cupcakes. Their Rice Krispies are very good! If in DC I highly suggest you stop by!
While visiting DC this weekend we had to try baked & wired. Purchased a few cupcakes to go & loved it. We had carrot, red velvet, pumpkin, double chocolate, & coconut. Highly recommend this place & looking forward to stopping in again next time we’re in the area.
Very popular bakery and coffee shop – there’s typically a line outside but it tends to move quickly. Ok coffee and delicious baked goods, especially if you like cupcakes. Too sweet for my taste but I’m not huge on cake and still enjoy it.
