This place has amazing pastries however my review comes from the rudeness of the owner. The beautiful cake below was meant to be a chocolate cake. It is clearly not a chocolate cake. He literally came out and said I can offer you $5 back! I paid $100 for this cake and ya’ll messed up a 7yr olds birthday and you can only offer me $5 credit ridiculousBy SwahiliPrincess Bows (9 months ago)I bought a spinach pie and also an eggplant calzone today. The filling was very tasty, but it was under filled and too much dough compared to what was inside. I’m usually very happy here but not today. I have not been disappointed with anything else here. I am usually a very happy customer.By Darlene Rivard (a month ago)Second time there, so many delicious Italian pastries, definitely recommend. Plus they are open till 8PM when you want that late night dessert with a local flair instead of the typical supermarket selectionBy Timothy Jewett (3 months ago)Always a pleasant spot to visit, clean and regularly stocked with delicious pastries and confections. The friendly staff helps too! Hard to argue with the prices as everything else delivers A+ quality.By John Rogers (2 months ago)Always loved their pies but service has gone downhill this past year. They always have new employees in there every time I come in and the customer service has been awful, even the attitude on the phone was uncalled for. Will be sticking with Gregg’s for pies from now on 🤷♀️By Carissa (3 months ago)

I gave the owner of this business over a week to contact me, apologize, issue a store credit, refund my money, something, anything, and I got NOTHING. Don’t waste your money at the Bread Boss, 269 Greenville Avenue in Johnston. When ordering party pizza for pick up at noontime, you would think that it would be baked fresh that morning. NOT! The white pizza was also dry in addition to not being fresh. When I showed the employee (older woman) the burnt pizza, her response was, “well it’s not burnt on the bottom.” Are you kidding me? Would anyone eat or serve this at a party?? Never again….By Denise B (8 months ago)Staff was happy & friendly! Owner came out and greeted us wow! Customers were coming in left & right. Free cookies to go thank you so much. Wish all small businesses gave me that feel good vibe. Keep making a difference! Thanks 😊By Linda Sharron (3 months ago)Decided to take my clients to a local bakery, and this was the one that we was happy to find! Delicious treats !!! Lemon bars are a must! Very friendly & kind thank you !By Diamond Lopez (4 months ago)Well stocked tasty choices. Big Cookies. Quite a variety from sweet to savory.By Travis King (4 weeks ago)Excellent old school spinach pies, bakery pizza, Sicilian bread, and pastries. Small Mom & Pop bakeries like this used to be common when I was a kid in RI. For the most part they’ve been replaced by the convenience and inferiority of supermarkets…and it’s a damned shame. If you want an authentic, traditional neighborhood bakery, look no further than the Bread Boss.By M.S. Geremia (7 months ago)

The coffee is crazy good and the bakery items are always fresh. I love how they know their regulars and always remember people’s names. My favorite bakery item is the ginger scone toasted with strawberry jam. I’m impressed that they donate their leftover items everyday to places that help others in need.
We were looking for breakfast and this place had a line out the door. There’s no better advertisement than that. The people were excellent helpful and friendly. We each ordered a breakfast sandwich that was mouth wateringly delicious with a pecan sticky bun a lemon cake and 1 coffee. We spent about $40 bucks and I have to say for $40 bucks I’d like to be full. The food was great and I’d say it’s worth stopping buy for a pastry however grab breakfast before you go.
Wonderful bakery, with chilled unpretentious vibe. Great coffee and of course – pastries galore. Seating both inside and out. Staff courteous and attentive. Worth the 5 km round trip walk for sure!
They have the best latte I’ve ever had! The whole store smell like coffee which I love! I was searching the coffee milk during my entire visit to RI and I finally found one here! It was the last one and it tasted good! I also took out some pastries with me and they were also good, too! I love their cheese danish and the sticky bun. Will visit this place again next time when I’m in RI!
Ginger scone…is THE best scone in the world. Not to say the pecan sticky roll won’t delight me too. And the lemon cake…well anything in this lovely spot you will find all over locations in our great town of providence.
