So, this is a difficult one. My son was in the hospital for a weekend and we visited Bread and Brew and had an amazing experience.
Circle back to today. My wife and I decided to visit today. The following image is a $14.00 sandwich. I’m sorry, but, three slices of ham on bread is, not where we were two years ago. I can spend $14.00 and 10 minutes at home. I feel some corners are getting cut. My wife even says the quality of their soups has gone noticibly down.
Sorry, but things have changed, but not for the better…
I recommend visiting Great Harvest Bread Co for those seeking an amazing sandwich at reasonable prices. They’re phenomenal!
By Mr Rich (a year ago)This was my first time getting food from here. I’ve always heard good things. So, I got the Aloha Grilled Cheese, side of regular fries and the peanut butter pie. The fries were $5, the grilled cheese was $14 and the pie was $8.Firstly, the fries were mid. Secondly, how are they going to charge $5 for such a small portion. I could get more fries for less $ at McDonalds…
I love grilled cheese sandwiches, but this was also mid. As you look at the pictures, don’t you see the abundance of cheese for grilled cheese? No? I was surprised too. Disappointing for an easily-made sandwich.
Not all the food was mid. I liked their peanut butter pie. Solid 8.7/10. Chocolate top, peanut butter middle and Oreo bottom! Yum.
Overall, I don’t know if I’d order here again. For a good grilled cheese, make it at home or get the crabby grilled cheese from 49th State Brewing. At least 49th gives you a decent amount of fries that are actually good and a grilled cheese with actual cheese.
By Marilynn Nashalook (a month ago)Ordered the tots, chilli, and chocolate tort on grubhub. It was all ok, just… Almost $10 for a sliver of flourless cake. Like…. Maybe it would be worth it in the restaurant?? Though, honestly, it does seem like the portions have always been lacking for the prices charged. Except the tots. Seems to be $12 worth of tots.By Killy Willy (4 months ago)This place could be great! But portions are small, once u sit down it’s a real pain to order something again, and when u do order you feel like u have to tip all over again. Food is good but once u sit down service is over. Little bit of attitude flow in the employees, again, was sitting for over an hour eating and not one employee asked me anything.By Scott R (6 months ago)A little wait, but food was DELICIOUS! My son had the original grilled cheese with fries, while I had the jalepeno popper grilled cheese. Tomato soup dipper was also delicious.By Holly Buchanan (9 months ago)

Cute spot on K. Street. Located in a quiet area, so definitely a place you can pass by and not fully notice. I would highly recommend coming to grab breakfast, or a treat! When we got there a little after 7, there were already a few people in line, but it did not take long for us to place our order. There were a few items that were not available when we were there. Staff is helpful and friendly. They have an open kitchen, so you can directly see them baking and preparing items.
Highlights
• ham cheddar chive scone – Savory is not what I think of when I hear scone, but this is a definite HIT.• pan au chocolat croissant – buttery, flaky, and very full of chocolate!
• breakfast sandwich – delicious sandwich complete with lettuce, sausage, a poached egg, and a nice spicy spread.
By Steph Wong (5 months ago)What a cute shop!! Fresh and delicious paste ties and sandwiches. Fun to explore the joining coffee shop with neat plant selection. We saw moose in the parking lot around 8A so it was extra special!By Kelsey Cook (a month ago)Another fine addition to the Fire Island Bakery empire. The beauty of this location is the intimate setting where customers get to watch the baking magic happen right in front of their own eyes. Great selection of products and some killer seating too (including giant garage doors that open on the south side of the building to expand the dining options outside onto the small patio!) Highly recommend a visit!By Chris Schutte (Shopping Bag) (12 months ago)absolutely delicious sandwiches and baked goods! not usually a scone person, but the combination of interesting flavors and the face they are slightly less dry than the average scone was the perfect combo. been in anchorage for 2 days and we’ve already been twice – perfect spot for breakfast/light lunch or a sweet treat.By karin chastain turner (6 months ago)The baked good are amazing and ready made sandwiches are great. Had the game and Swiss sandwich and shortcake cupcake. The filling was unreal. Would be great to get a espresso based coffee to complete the café experience but the drip coffee was alright.By Jodi Rueger (9 months ago)

Definitely a vacation or tour destination!! This place offers extremely tasty breakfast for all day option, open and comfortable seating and very homey. Great service crew.
The corned beef hash is the most famous and tasty. An impressive prime rib fried steak, and good coffee to boot.
Also featuring some very good variety options and excellent taste. Definitely worth the trip.
We wanted to like this more given so many high reviews but we did have issues.
Both our items were recommended as some of their most popular choices. Husband ordered the prime rib chicken fried steak w/a biscuit. It looked great.
Sadly, the gristle was not trimmed off so he battled that rather than enjoy what should’ve been a melt in your mouth fattening experience. The biscuits were nice and tall but by the time extra gravy was delivered for them, he was done.
I ordered the corn beef hash. It was OK. Honestly I was expecting more hash. The corned beef was cubed at maybe 1/2″, there was some onion but the rest was just a bunch of greasy hash browns-tasty, but greasy. Enough so that I’m worried about the drive through Denali. I ordered a 3rd egg.
Waitstaff was super friendly and bonus of serving real cream for coffee vs pods.
Can’t give 4.5 or I would have. The food and service were very good. My wife got the stuffed Nolan. It looked and tasted great. I got the Hungry Joe with waffle, and sausage. All cooked perfect. I’m picky about sausage, and this was good. A little pricy for breakfast, but hey it’s Alaska, and we’re in vacation, so we expected it.
Absolutely delicious!! I tried the corned beef hash and it was nice and meaty, good serving size, and not too salty at all! We also ordered the biscuits which were sky-high and yummy, as well as the reindeer sausage special! The sausage was amazing! Overall 10/10!
My wife and I came here for lunch. We started with the chili cheese fry appetizer, it was awesome. She got the club sandwich and it was huge, was told delicious. I got the patty melt and that sandwich was also pretty large, it was definitely amazing. I highly recommend this place. We also got some of the sweets, I have yet to try those yet.
