Communication from this office is a joke. They do not return calls, emails or messages. Getting refills on scripts requires walking in as they wont pick up the phone, or check messages on the refill request answering machine. My PA is good though, wish she worked somewhere else. They do not want to deal with clients and especially not COVID clients. They “offer” walk in COVID testing for symptomatic people but you have to check in by calling. Well their way around that is to put you on hold for 20 minutes and when you hang up and call back (around 10 times) they don’t answer the phone and you can’t leave a voicemail because the mailbox is full. More than likely you will sit there for at least an hour. If you need to call for a next appointment good luck with that because no one will answer the phone ,an by some act of god some one answers the phone they will put you on hold an forget about you . Now if you get to see the doctor an they tell you there going to call the medicine in , well that doesn’t happen either unless you keep calling them back . The great thing is oh we got really busy here sorry about that . So if you need help I would not be going here , there’s an atmosphere of you don’t matter.By earl irwin (9 months ago)Ran out of my medicine- I was 2 days short of RX expiration. My pharmacy tried contacting starting on Saturday. They never responded. By the following Thursday without my medication and growing increasingly unwell- I called and left a message- no response. I called on Friday- no response. I left work early on Friday to go in person- I was told I needed to be seen to get a RX- I said that was fine, but no one returned my call to tell me. When I saw the doctor – she asked what was going on. I expressed I needed my RX renewed and my pharmacy and myself have been calling for 6 days to get a response with no luck. The doctor said “well we are a busy practice” A lot of doctors offices are busy- but Plattsburgh Medical Care is the only one I have ever had the displeasure of going to who does not care enough about their patients to return their calls. I received my RX and will never go there again. Dave yourself the heartache and just don’t go there. I brought my daughter in just before 6pm with ear pain. We were checked in quickly and brought right to a room for a telehealth type visit. The nurse used tools connected to a computer to allow a doctor to see my daughter’s throat, ears and listen to her heart and lungs. We also could see inside her throat and ears on the screen. It was pretty neat! The doctor could see right away, as could we, that she had an ear infection and prescribed her an antibiotic. The visit was thorough, quick and the staff and doctor were very nice and attentive. We will definitely be back should we need medical care again!!
Best experience with an urgent care facility I’ve ever had. My nurse Heather and her trainee (her name escapes me) were very kind and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them both. My physical was done by Matt and he was both professional and fun. They all made me feel right at home. I got there early as I did not have an appointment but my wait time was minimal. Overall would highly recommend.
Stopped in without an appointment. My wait time was less than expected about 15 minutes. The doctor I saw was super friendly and knowledgeable for my particular case. I was in and out with 30 minutes. I followed up with my eye doctor the following week. I shared the treatment plan that Urgent Care provided. My optometrist agreed with the plan. Very satisfied with the care I received. I currently do not have a PCP in the area so this was my best option.
I have always had a positive experience at this Plattsburgh WellNow Urgent Care. The front receptionists are kind and professional, the nurses are compassionate and competent, and the doctors are knowledgeable and caring. Being able to walk-in and be seen (usually within a few hours) is worth it to me. Today’s visit with Nurse Heather was outstanding, she obviously cares a lot about taking care of patients and wants to do the best by them. Dr. Matt was thorough and knowledgeable as well as trying to get things done in a quick way. He gave me applicable tips to help me get better. I appreciate the staff and experience, thank you all.
All staff were friendly and kind. I was seen within a few minutes of arrival and a nurse came in to take vital signs just a couple minutes later. My provider Matthew was friendly and competent and explained everything and answered all my questions. He called in the necessary script and I am feeling better today. I would not hesitate to go to this facility again and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you again!
