SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE and drive to Sioux Falls. We have always used the ER in Sioux Falls, and have never had a bad experience.. we recently moved closer to Mitchell and had to go to the Avera ER for our toddler. I have NEVER met doctors and nurses who are so blatantly rude, and ignorant. They don’t care about you, or your children. I now understand why it is known as the “Queen of Death” by many in the area.By C S (a month ago)The care itself has been great. I have gotten labs and outpatient stuff done and had my baby there. The OB nurses are absolutely amazing and so kind. The billing department could use work, I have labs done often as I am 7 months pregnant and have always sent a check out within a week of getting the statement. They take months to get everything ran through insurance then expect you to pay your bill before they even have the statement out. I just got two statements about two weeks ago and mailed a check last week for 1/3 of the amount. She claimed my child did not cough up blood as we told her (i guess my blood stained comforter and visually seing it happen was not up to her standards) She claimed my child had anxiety instead of the actual chest pain and breathing difficulty (just because my child was tearful like anyone who nearly passed out from not breathing would be). Thank heavens we are seeing someone else in Sioux Falls. She was extremely unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, insulting, nasty and offensive towards our family, just to mention a few. Wish there was a way to not give a star. Went with my sister to take my 3 year old nephew to be checked out and recently he started hating to be in Dr office. The dr we seen (unsure of her name) asked my sister how she handles him when he acts like this. My sister responded: I tell him it’s going to be okay and try to calm him down. She informed my sister this was wrong and she needs to change the way she handles him.. we came here cause he wasn’t feeling good not for her to tell my sister how to be a parent.. last I checked that wasn’t part of a dr visit? Or has things changed?
I haven’t had any issues with urgent care. The front desk was friendly, I got in right away. I have asthma, the doctor listened to my history, gave me suggestions and medicated me in a way to help me get over what I had. She even listened to my concerns with how one medication she wanted to use affected my body, then made another suggestion. I think they did well for the fact that they don’t know me.
our “provider” was Tammy and i would suggest no one waste their money or time going to see her. She sent my son home with bulging ear drums, no appetite, vomiting, fever and irritability. She refused to give him any medications or treatments
I highly recommend you update your operating hours on your website! My son needed to be seen last night and we arrived at the urgent care at 6pm only to find out that they close at 5pm. We had driven 30 miles to be seen by medical professionals. As a result, I drove my son to a Sanford urgent care in Sioux Falls and we extremely satisfied with the care provided. I know where I will go next time we are in of after hours care.
I saw Dr Meanie for a tooth infection. He advised me to also see a dentist after he gave me antibiotics. I did that and I am greatful for his genuine interest in my wellness.
