Saw Dr. Andrew Edwards in Urgent Care today. I woke up with a gunky discharge, and blood shot eyes and waited several hours before deciding to go to Urgent Care.
I had an expired prescription written by another doctor at that Urgent Care. I brought it with me to show the doctor.
It worked great before and thought it might be helpful. I asked for a refill.
He looked at the bottle. He didn’t like that I asked for a refill of the medication because it was dangerous. I was surprised and told him that another physician at that urgent care had prescribed it 2 years earlier. He wanted to prescribe something else and I agreed, but he continued to lecture me.
Then, I asked if I could call the urgent care for a different medication if the one he prescribed wasn’t working. I explained I didn’t want to make another trip. He lectured me some more, saying that no doctor can ever say a medication will work 100% of the time. I know that! He didn’t answer my question.
Then, he said my symptoms were WIMPY and that the medication he prescribed should work. WIMPY? He also suggested I could use an over the counter saline solution for 7-10 days first. I felt uncomfortable and opted for the prescription.He didn’t need to lecture me. That’s condescending. I’ve never heard of any doctor calling symptoms WIMPY. Poor choice of words. That’s unprofessional and inappropriate.
By Deborah Lewis (2 months ago)Went to urgent care at 9am to get an X-ray on my hand. Was told there would be a 2-21/2 hour wait in our car. So we decided to go directly across Sagamore pkwy and get a couple items at grocery store. While I was there they called to get further info even though we had just left. When I told them where I was I was informed that I had lost my place in line and now it would be 4hrs. Never was I told or was it posted, to my knowledge that you had to sit in the parking lot the whole time. We went to Monticello and was able to get right in with great service.By sheri cunningham (4 months ago)The last time I went here, you could just walk in, get an appointment, and sit down and wait. Now, they shoved urgent care to a small corner of the building and you have to sit in your car and call them, which will take 2 or 3 tries because nobody will answer. Then you get to wait in your car in the frigid cold burning your gas to keep you warm for 30+ minutes, or an hour, maybe 2 hours, who the hell knows. Of course, this isn’t posted on their website. It just says walk-ins are welcome.By John Johnson (2 months ago)Nurse was very rude. Told me that they would refer me to emergency room because my pain level is high and they wouldn’t take me. I said I could wait for 2 hours (since she said estimated 2 hours wait) as she just kept rejecting me to be seen. I told her I might be experiencing a chronic appendicitis- she told me there’s NO SUCH THING. Lol. Apparently she needs to be a doctor. Honestly never had a nice experience with IU, IU really suck 😄By Yichen Dong (5 months ago)My daughter took our granddaughter for congestion and wheezing. The signs in the parking lot say to call, and she was told it was a 2.5 hour wait. She decided to go 4 doors down to Starbucks. While in the drive thru at Starbucks they called back to get some more information. As soon as the registration person on the phone heard the drive thru person, they told my daughter that since she left the parking lot she would have to go back to the end of the line and the wait was now 4 hours. At no point was my daughter informed that she had to stay in the parking lot. Needless to say, my daughter took our granddaughter down the road to Franciscan Express Care and received timely, respectful, and professional care. I was the most worried I had been in a long time with my little one having breathing issues. I went in nervously because of my lack of trust for doctors due to terrible experiences and I was blown away by their kindness and urgency! They got right to the bottom of what was wrong and we will be forever grateful and always go here if we can avoid the emergency room. From what we seen, amazing, compassionate, thorough people work here!! It was also very clean! Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience at the Lafayette, IN location. I was able to make an appointment in advance, and their available times were reasonable. We were registered very efficiently, taken back to a room right away, and didn’t have to wait long at all to be seen by both the nurse and the nurse practitioner. Medication was prescribed and sent to our pharmacy of choice with great efficiency and accuracy. Everyone was warm and accommodating and made my scared toddler feel as comfortable as possible. Total time there with a pre-scheduled appointment: About 30 minutes. I highly recommend this location for your urgent care needs!
Great place! The entire staff was friendly and personable! The easy on line registration helps to speed up the process with the administrative medical staff. The wait was short and the medical staff made my stay comfortable and they did a great job diagnosing my ear infection, recommending treatment and getting me on the road to recovery! Definitely scored a 10 for me. Great place for a return visit when I need quick medical care!!!
I had a wonderful experience here! The building is very clean, bright, and organized and has a very safe and relaxing feeling to it. All of the staff are extremely nice and really took their time diagnosing me and answering any of my questions. Nothing seemed rushed and they were very nice people. I really recommend going here 🙂
I came in with an infected ear piercing and got exactly the treatment/medicine I needed! My visit was very quick and efficient, and everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend to anyone in the area, I’d also suggest filling out the paperwork online because it makes the process go even faster.
