5 Replies to Evansville IN Urgent Care – Walk-In Urgent Care

  1. Everybody has been friendly and mostly helpful. I came in for a small cut on my arm that has a very minor infection. I’ve been here for a little over 3 hours, I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and In the room for 1. I just wanna go home, but I need antibiotics; and it seems like I’m nowhere close to leaving. Edit: doctor finally came after over 3 hours just to tell me it’s fine and that they’ll give me antibiotics like I thought. It feels kinda stupid waiting 3 hours for 30 seconds with a doctor, I feel like a better prepared clinic would be a better option. I’m aware I’m not a medical professional, but in any profession it’s kind of rude to leave someone waiting without even some water for almost 4 hours

  2. I was incredibly impressed with this facility and the staff. Everyone was helpful, very clean facility, easy care access and a short wait. The NP was very thorough, and spent quality no rushed time with me. Being from out of town after I left I realized that the pharmacy I selected might not be open late enough to pick up my prescriptions. I had to make the dreaded call back and leave a message call to the clinical staff. I was floored in that I received a call back within 10 minutes and the staff went out of their way to confirm the hours of the location and that it was 24hrs after all. I couldn’t ask for more ease, perfection and support from a walk-in clinic. This community is fortunate to have this facility and providers nearby.

  3. The wait time is always pretty long but I really like the dr I had. I’ve had him before and he always addresses my symptoms aggressively so that I don’t end up back there. ( this visit was a week after I saw my PCP for the same condition. What she gave me did not help me which is why I came to your facility). I’m seeing a difference already and it’s only been two days.
I always go to this facility if I need urgent care. I only gave it four stars because of the wait time.

  4. I have gone in twice and received rather poor medical care. The first time I went in I had been sick all week but still able to work. They tested me for Flu and Covid, which both came back negative. They gave me 3 different medications without tell me what was actually wrong. The second time I came here, I felt I received worse care than before. I have had abnormal, but localized abdominal pain for several days. All they did was take an x-ray and felt my abdomen. They gave me nothing to help with the pain, nor tell me anything regarding the x-rays taken and told me to use a heating pad, as well as follow up with my primary care on Tuesday. If I could leave a poor review for a specific doctor, Dr. David Utley, I would. I understand that they had one doctor and several patients waiting as well, however my pain and discomfort was ultimately dismissed as “being bloated” and nothing was done to address the obvious pain indicated while observing my abdomen.

12/21/22 I am now in the ER

  5. Micki Wheeler is one of the worst mid-level practioners I’ve come in contact with. With Ascension closing almost all of its walk-ins you’d think they would keep the best providers. She told me I was “fine” after spending 30 seconds in an exam room with me. Nothing was mentioned about my vitals. My blood pressure was near hypertensive crisis, and wasn’t even double checked for accuracy. I was “discharged” with no paperwork or plans for aftercare. After leaving the walk-in, I immediately went to the ER where the NP was phenomenal, she listened to me and got the appropriate testing done. They had to re-do testing because they couldn’t view results from an hour ago, which seems at the very least inefficient. I was not “fine” and left with a diagnosis and treatment plan. I tried to do the right thing by going to urgent care and not bogging down the ER, but what’s the point when they don’t do anything? Horrible experience.

Facility’s staff faxed and relayed my medical information over the phone to an unapproved party. The document both parties signed acknowledged the test as a private matter and I am the only individual to receive results. This decision did not sit well with the LPN which she then proceeded to play childish games with the rest of the paperwork by choosing to only fill certain pages of a carbon copy paper and leaving other pages without data. After requesting the data be properly filled out I was told I had an “attitude.” For someone to do this is beyond me and the whole situation is the epitome of unprofessional. I hope the staff will handle themselves like health care professionals moving forward.

Took my daughter for a second trip after having Covid and still having issues and was told by the doctor she would write her a doctors note on mychart for school and after it not showing up on mychart we called them like 3 times asking about the excuse for our daughter and receptionist said she would ask and on the last call was told it was too late and now our daughter can not go to snowball because they didn’t do what we was told they would do and I think the receptionist never even looked into it and just blew us off after calling her 3 times and now because someone couldn’t or wouldn’t help us get the excuse, we was told by doctor that she would do on mychart, now our daughter doesn’t get to experience snowball. So thanks a lot for that because that was at least 3 days excused. And she wouldn’t be at the point now where she she couldn’t go and would been able to attend if she had excused them days, so thanks a lot n I doubt they will even see this but it is a bad deal for our 16 year old.

    Do not recommend.

Waited 2 hours total to be seen and one test to be ran.
Rooms were not well kept as there were scrap marks on the seats and walls.
Staff seemed to have no sense of urgency for treatment to be completed.

Quick getting me in and out while thoroughly addressing all concerns – Nell Clay is amazing! Other than my primary doctor she is the nicest and most upfront person I have ever encountered between Deaconess and St Vincent

Excellent visit. She was very quick. I was in and out in under 10 minutes which made me happy because I felt horrible. She explained everything quickly yet thoroughly and without sounding condescending. We need more health care workers like her.

What about patient privacy and who is who???? The secretary talks to you from behind the desk and yells all your information infront of ALL the other patients…what is your Date of Birth, what pharmacy do you use. Another patient had an issue and the secretary says INFRONT of 5 other random patients, saying “well she (NP) will not remove your toe nail, I just spoke with her and she said she won’t do it” Infront of Everyone!! Then started discussing whether patient has or doesn’t have insurance AND disclosed that he had been at that same urgent care a little over a month ago. Talk about violating all HIPAA guidelines. The patient was clearly embarrassed and everyone in the waiting room were uncomfortable. It was disgusting!
No one except 1 person was wearing a name tag (the RT person was). No one ever introduced themselves. The lady doing intake was coughing, did NOT sanitize her hands once throughout her checking me in, and didn’t sanitize the pulse ox…and touched with her hands After coughing and not sanitizing, and she was coughing and not wearing a masks (even though the front desk check in instructions say to wear a mask of coughing).
The secretary kept referring to the NP as “doctor” even though I clarified that it was an NP and not a doctor.

The NP seemed nice, although she only listened to 4 Only posterior lung posts and no anterior or lateral lung posts which is not current guidelines for proper exam for someone with breathing difficulties. Overall was nice.

Just don’t go. I went there last Tuesday and they said they would send my labs and it would be back by Friday. Call today(Monday) and they didn’t send it off. They couldn’t find I was suppose to have labs sent. Don’t waste your time. They said it was a different crew and they had no idea. It should have been in my chart no matter what crew was in!!!

I will only use Mercy as my urgent care provider now, I’ve needed urgent care medical attention now 3 times in the last year and each time I’ve been in and out under 30 minutes…& even grabbed my needed meds at the pharmacy all under 1 hour…it’s truly incredible to have real URGENT care so I can quickly get back to work! Also LOVE the new check in process via cell phone that allows for more HIPPA complaint privacy in the waiting room area!

I don’t recommend this urgent care unless you just need the care of a band-Aid, in which for that I truly hope you do stay home!!
I came here about 3 months ago it was due to bad burn to right hand (thankfully I ended up going to ER as I turned out needing care at a out of state burn unit) however if it was as simple as a broken finger/hand/wrist- i would have been just screwed so here’s a warning to everyone! If you’re unable to write then don’t come here (that goes for the unfortunate that doesn’t know how to write as well)
Clearly and visibly front desk, lady Gave me paperwork to fill out- I struggled with my non writing hand- finally gave up- asked her if I give her my DL SSC & insurance card if she could fill my paperwork out! She said she wasn’t allowed to & couldn’t give any other options on getting it filled out- insisting, though that it does need to be filled out before I can be seen.
I work in healthcare & I’m very aware it’s allowed to fill a patients paperwork out!
    Awful 10 minute experience ever!
