  1. I’m not from here so when my toddler fell and split her chin open we chose the closest place that takes our insurance. My daughter always has a meltdown at drs/dentists so I was worried about how she would handle possibly needing stitches. Everyone – front desk, triage nurse, np that treated her – were so patient and kind to us. She had a few tears during intake/vitals but the nurse took her time and the tears were over quick. The np that treated her was very gentle and talked her through it. She recommended no stitches, just glue which I was happy with. NO TEARS! I’m attaching a picture of her holding the nps hand to check out – I was shocked! My daughter doesn’t even like to greet strangers, let alone have anything to do with a DOCTOR after any kind of treatment! The fact that she felt so comfortable with the staff made me so happy. I will come back for any other minor emergencies – if I could bring her for her checkups I absolutely would! The wait was a bit long – about an hour – but we later found out that they were waiting to clear and clean the operating room for her, so it was worth the wait! Thank you for making it such a good experience while we were stressed out!

  2. My son got very sick on our 1900 mile trip from Michigan to South Carolina and back. At our stop on the way home we were lucky enough to stop at the Charleston, WV urgent care. Robert the NP was professional, thorough and personable. We felt very comfortable and thank you for being there at our time of need!

  3. So I was there yesterday cause I had a fall and let me tell you something this place. Everyone, everyone was outstanding and I had the best care that anyone could ask for. They treated me like a baby. The doctor Michelle was wonderful and the nurses were out of this world to me. This nurse that gave me 2 shots in my hips did not feel it at all. They took erays and come to find out my fall was very bad. I have a broken rib on my right side. She sent in 2 medicines for me to take and they are doing good on me. I am still out of commission for 4-6 weeks but I just pray 🙏 that God will heal me and let me get better soon. You need help please go to med express in so char and you will get the help you deserve. Thank God they are there for people who need help. I will always go there for anything I need. Thank you so much for that place, amen

  4. I normally love this place, but they were horrible today. I’ve been here for 4 hours waiting to see the doctor. I’m pregnant and in a lot of pain and they pretty much lied to me about how long it would take. Saying it would only take an hour. They have taken patients in that got here after me. They are apparently only working with one provider today. This is absolutely ridiculous. You think you could expect more from a medical facility, but I was obviously wrong. Staff is great, but it’s extremely inconsiderate to lie about wait times.

  5. Brought my son in for a runny nose, possible cold. This time there were no issues with our insurance and I found out the first time we were denied service wasn’t their fault. I revoke my previous, frustrated negative review. We were in and out within an hour and all of the employees were very nice. I appreciate that they were calm and understanding with my special need son.

Came for a COVID test. Had one patient before me. Was told to wait in my car and I would be called. The call came almost an hour later. Once taken and administered the test, which I was told would only take 10-15 minutes for results, I was left in the exam room almost another hour, but the explanation was that a lady came in who was so sick arrangements had to be made to get her to the hospital. That is an understandable excuse, but wouldn’t you think courtesy would dictate informing the waiting patient for the delay?

I went to MedExpress due to my wrist hurting. Ended up after X-rays I sprained my wrist. The PA was very nice and decided to wrap my wrist with an ace bandage. Elevate and ice my wrist. It’s feeling better every day now. Thank you for being there when you are needed.

Went to get tested for covid and when I asked for a second test to confirm doctor actually raised his voice to me and asked me why, like it offended him that I wanna be sure about being out of work for 5 days. I will never go back to this place nor will I recommend them to anyone else. The er doctors at hospitals are more professional than that doctor was.

Just like always, the diagnosis was wrong or incomplete. My daughter went in with a high fever. She was tested for flu and Covid which was all negative. They gave her tamiflu anyway (why?). Turns out she has a uti and was about to be septic. Thanks to CAMC, she is being treated with fluids and antibiotics.
I would not take my worst enemy to Med Express! You are just a number there with money and won’t get the care you need. Stay away from this clinic, far away!

The Kanawha City, WV location has been my MedExpress for the past 6 years. We have to go there often, I’ve surely been seen by everyone there multiple times and gosh, they are so brilliant. Seeing I’ve always been sick, I know lots about what I need. They listen to me, and I’m always learning they always know exactly what I need. You can trust them. Dr. Hager has been who I’ve seen the last few times and man, she’s SO smart!

Throughout my life I have had really terrible medical care. It has been absolutely humiliating. The staff at Kanawha City MedExpress, you can trust them.

Worse med express experience ever. I understand that not only is Covid, flu, etc. going around and they’re more than likely stressed but I’ve visited 2 med express locations in the last 3 months and the front registration were rude. Today I have my daughter who has febrile seizures here who has a fever of 102.2 that we can’t get down, cough, sore throat and breathing issues and upon registration we weren’t fever asked what was wrong… which is crazy to me. The last time I was at a med express the bleach blonde lady said “are you wanting covid testing” and that was it when my daughter in return had an ear drum that could have ruptured. I’m a medical provisional myself so I understand it gets to be a bit much sometimes but to get respect you have to give jt. Don’t be I. The medical industry if you’re going to be a bitty.

My son was seen on December 4th 2022 for strep and his rapid test was negative. His send off culture came back on December 6th as positive. We are still waiting on a RX to be called in for him. He has still been sick his dad went to in person today and asked them if they would call it in and they said yes today. Here it is 8:30pm and still not called in.
My husband even asked if they could just give him a paper prescription so he can go get it filled right away because our kid did not feel good still and they said no.
I guess we’re gonna have to go to the ER to get anabiotic’s for strep throat because he’s been running a fever since Monday.

Please quit failing the patients that come there.

Brought my 3 year old in to be checked out for possible sinus infection. Was told insurance was inactive and we could not be seen. I called Aetna and the DHHR and both they said everything is active and up to date. My guess is that it was 2 hours before closing and they just didn’t want to deal with another patient (the place was empty) or they’re biased against medical card users. My son was adopted from foster care therefore he gets a medical card no matter how much money we make until he is 18. I guess they just dont like what they perceived as “welfare people”. The DHHR woman told me that this happens all the time smh.

It was a wonderful experience! Dr. Cook had amazing bedside manner and all of the staff were kind and considerate! Would definitely go again for any medical needs!

TERRIBLE STAFF. Receptionists are very rude and disrespectful save yourself the time and avoid this medexpress if you can! They do not listen to what you tell them and proceed with what THEY think is right after politely correcting several times. They will rush and disregard you like they are better than you. I was not the only person.
