Just moved to this area and don’t yet have a pediatrician for my little girl. Took her to AFC on 280 and had the best experience. Everyone there was so kind to her. From the receptionist to the medical staff including the doctor (Dr. Andrea), I felt at ease. My little one was well cared for. All with whom I came in contact were very nice. The individual who took my vital signs wore no ID, nor did she introduce herself. The ease of scheduling online appointment and availability of appointments each day is what makes this place great. I have never had issues with this place before so I am sure that this most recent visit had something to do with staff not showing up and being short staffed. I had a 1:50 appointment, and did not see a doctor/nurse practitioner until about 2:50. We had to step out of our waiting room and ask how much longer because we had been waiting for over 30min and with a 1 year old it’s hard to keep them entertained in a small room for much longer than that. The air conditioning did not work that day either so that also didn’t make it better.
We were not able to see the doctor but the nurse practitioner was great and we would love to see her any time we come back there if our normal pediatrician is closed or not available.
Overall this is a great option especially for the hours this place operates. I’m sure they couldn’t help it, it just seemed like a long time when there was only one other family there to my knowledge at the time, but at the end of the day I’m glad we went and we would still go back because I am sure they were just simply under staffed at that moment.
I discovered Urgent Care for Children-280 when I moved to that area 3 years ago and it is hands down THE BEST urgent care around. You can easily schedule a appt online or just walk in. Every staff member I have encountered there the past few years have been wonderful with both me and my children and have gone above and beyond. The best thing about them is I have always been in and out in under an hour. No more need in going to Children’s ER and waiting for hours and hours to get very little results. I would give them beyond 5 stars if I could!
I left a review close to a year ago, but I wanted to give an update:
Great Spot! Out of the 6 times we’ve been here, 4-5 of them were EXTRAORDINARY! I had one visit around August that was not stellar and one other that was just mediocre. But every other time has far exceeded any doctor visits we’ve had from everywhere. This place is fantastic. Great system; great staff! Quick, quality care. I feel like my “less than stellar” experiences were attributed to the bar always being set so high given previous experiences prior. And I suspect those particular staff in August aren’t their main rotation of care givers. HIGHLY, highly recommended!
For reference: I’m a 35yo mother with a 3 year old wild man, Inverness residents.
I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have always had kind, compassionate care from the receptionists to the nurses and doctors. Also, they work fast – I don’t think we’ve ever spent more than 10 minutes waiting to get a room, and between 10 and 30 minutes being assessed and diagnosed. Thank you, Urgent Care 280.
We have been here twice with my now 7 month old (because why would kids show symptoms on a weekday when their pediatrician is open 😂) and have had a positive experience both times! We got in fairly quickly both times even though we didn’t have an appointment (you do have to remember this is an urgent care and can get busy, so a small wait is to be expected). Once back, we were seen promptly. The nurse and the NP listened to our concerns and treated our son appropriately. Would definitely recommend for when your pediatrician’s office isn’t open!!
