  1. Unfortunately I come to this ER quiet often bc of my son and my gosh most of the time the doctors are so rude!! These doctors need to learn some bedside manner etiquette!! Please switch out these doctors once in a while for some who actually want to serve and help!! I have no issues with registering or the nurses they are wonderful.
Update: dr Bailey is so rude, go practice somewhere else.

  2. Not sure where they came up with “Exceptional” because they sure don’t honor the name. I walked in with severe upper abdominal pain. I provided my DL and BCBS insurance card but, unfortunately, I left my debit card on my bedside table because I was shopping online earlier that day. The desk clerk didn’t give me the option to be billed for the copay so I was basically turned away in my condition. I know for a fact that they’ve seen patients with no insurance, yet, I was unable to be seen because I forgot my debit card. This was the first and last time I will ever step foot in there or allow my loved ones to go there. Thank goodness for the VBMC Emergency Center. By the way, that front desk clerk needs to be trained on hospitality, such as greeting patients in a friendly manner. She was a dud.

  3. Great and caring team! I went there because I rolled both ankles and couldn’t walk. 2 men came out to help my husband get me in a wheelchair. I was immediately seen and attended. The doctor was very nice and very thorough, explaining everything. I especially liked the fact that they have in-house xray and CTs. This is my place to go for an emergency visit. Thank you to everyone at Exceptional! You guys are the best!

  4. Excellent care service! The wait time is minimal and the staff is caring and friendly and most of all, efficient! Thank you for getting me back on the road to healing!

  5. Excellent care. I never go to the ER. I always take care of myself and Im pretty good at it, however, this time I was feeling pretty bad. DR Fernando and her staff were 100% helpful. Thank you for your help.

My 4 stars go to the ER doctors and night nurses, they made my stay at this hospital comfortable and safe. The ER doctor HOLDER AND doctor SILHY were outstanding thank you very much for taking care of me in a very timely manner especially for my diagnosis. To the ICU nurses and the NIGHT NURSE STAFF ON THE FOURTH FLOOR MELISSA( wears glasses) so kind and very detailed in her work definitely portrayed the hospitality and kindness towards me as I was in dire need she really is a good nurse and it filled my heart with joy when I lucked out in having her two nights in a row!!!! This was not a five star review because I truly felt opportunities in the day nurse shift, although I understand the level of responsibility they carry I think being a bit more humble towards patients needs not walking away when speaking to them we are not a number we are human and I take that very whole heartily. Maybe offering them more support to not feel stressed would be my recommendation. Thank you for your services if I had to pick a hospital I would pick your facility again because my needs were overall addressed .

I would like to thank Myrna for her genuine support of my mother. She showed great concern and patience. Her sense of humor would brighten up our day. She was very helpful in getting answers for us and helping us understand what was being told to us. Her attitude was great and showed great enthusiasm for her job. Patients relatives are usually misunderstood or judged for asking questions however, she took the time to explain what was being told to us when sometimes doctors seems to be una rush. Doctors sometimes speak to us in medical term’s we don’t under stand. We need for them to speak to us in words we can understand. Thank your Myrna for being patient with us and understanding. We need more nurse’s like her.

I brought my husband in on 1/11/23 for possible kidney stones. From the time we checked out until now we have had nothing but positive interactions with everyone. From ER front desk staff to ER doctors, nurses, X-ray techs and housekeeping. We have always used Valley Baptist but the last few times there have had horrible experiences so we made the change to Harlingen Medical ans im so glad we did. Our nurses in ER were James and Manny. Dr Reyna was the ER doctor and Dr Finger was the urologist we saw. Kudos to all of them. We were admitted to the 3rd floor and our floor nurses were/are amazing. Rosie and Rosario were our night nurses. Day nurses are Samantha and Selena. Surgery nurses Lindsey and Bernice and Jesse were wonderful.
Even the cafe staff went above and beyond. Everyone greeted you with a smile and made you feel welcomed.
Kudos to the administration for running a top notch hospital. We will definitely make this our hospital should they need arise.

Great thanks to Marta nurse on second floor that was so patient with my demented mother and explained everything she did. All staff in general have created a culture there of friendliness. They took time to introduce, explain procedures and would say hello in the hallways. ER super busy and never lost their hospitality.

It only gets a star because it won’t post without one. I wouldn’t even give this experience a star.
It was a terrible experience. I was never examined. Talked to me with 3 other patients in the room. And he talked to them in front of me/us. HIPPA violations all the way through.
No care. No one checked on us. I was there 5+ hours. The woman was there longer and she was sick! She had a dangerously low lab level. Appalling.
    Shaking my head.
Don’t get sick. Don’t go there!

    I wish I would’ve read the reviews.
Covid testing if private pay is $75 but please don’t waist your time or money. They do NOT have well trained personnel to test.
I had tested last week, negative, but started to have symptoms on Thursday, so I called in to work. 6 days later i need a clearance to go to back to work. I go to this office, and pay for visit and test, I test negative. Yesterday. Well today I go to work, just to test positive the 3 times I tested. When I called to let them know that they need to pay attention on how are they performing test, they tried to give me a lecture that sometimes it comes negative for the first 5 days after exposure. If you notice, I previously said, its tge day #6.Maybe it would be better to get medical staff to answer phone and not “nurses want a be”.

I took my daughter in to this clinic at 4pm they said they had to verify her insurance and would call us in at 530 they called us up and said we did not have insurance I assured her we had insurance as I am teacher and our school district pays for our insurance she said not according to their system but I was welcome to call myself. I stepped outside and called the number on the back of my insurance as another lady who has been there longer than I had stomped out really upset… bcbs answered and said I did in fact have insurance and so did my daughter, I went back in to let them talk to the bcbs rep and she said she could not verify with them that she has to call the provider number and they stopped answering at 5 pm. I asked what the difference was since the rep worked for bcbs and could verify our insurance she said the difference was that they had to call the provider number that was closed. I explained that I had been signed in and waiting since 4 pm and asked why they hasn’t verified my insurance at that time she rudely said that was not their process. I told her I would happy to sign something saying that if the insurance did not cover it that I would cover it and they could charge my card.. she again said no that was not their process. Then she said bye have a nice day! These people need new processes! I wish I could give them no stars!

Front staff is rude and cynical. They will try to send you away saying the wait time is 3-4 hours. While there is no one in the waiting room. Then try to scare you off with the cost of private pay. We ended up being seen after 30 min of waiting.

Horrible service, long wait time. The doctor was condescending rude and insinuating that I wanted to be out. Inconsiderate of my injuries after being told I would be seeing a different doctor that specializes in personal Injury I was informed they left at 5pm and I missed them. I was at the clinic over 3 hrs well over 5pm. Unprofessional, unorganized and a waste of time. Don’t recommend them.

This is one of the worst clinics I have been to.
Customer service upon opening the door is rude and all the front staff couldn’t care less about the people who seek medical care.
If kind, sincere and compassionate care is what you need DO NOT stop
