Came by around 2pm one day, they were all full and unable to serve new patients. I went onto the website to make an appointment, which happened to be In the morning of the next day. I call over the phone while making my way over there in time for my appointment to ask about how much it would be out-of-pocket to pay for my appointment, to which I got a response of a little over $100 (reasonable, not why I’m writing this review). I make my way over to Eureka from Arcata and call again to ask for any special instructions for COVID-symptoms since it said that on the website (I had strep throat with no cough, no fever, but I did have a sore throat). To my astonishment, I am told that they are actually no longer accepting patients because they will be going on lunch break soon and I would have to come back 3 hours later after they take lunch. I was told they’re overloaded and people are waiting for 2-3 hours, which is why they stopped for lunch way earlier. I don’t blame them, I just wish they told me that over the phone the first time when I said I was coming to my appointment.
My strep throat ended up coming back several days after I finished antibiotics because nobody told me to switch toothbrushes after coming off my symptoms, and I had to come back for a second treatment.
I’m a student at Cal Poly Humboldt and during the summer our on-campus medical center was closed, so this was my only option for treatment outside an ER. I’m glad that it exists, but I am not satisfied with the care I’ve received and the lack of communication. Please update the website to say that appointments aren’t honored.
Great experience! The staff is very nice and professional. The facility is small, but they have a system going that works for them. The NP that saw me was very informative and gave me good teaching about my situation. All I can say is I was very satisfied by how I was treated. I don’t know what those other reviews were talking about because these people were great to me.
Was dropped by my primary care provider because they were short staffed. Redwood Urgent Care has been a life saver (not literally), while I’m on the waiting list for a new primary care provider. Very nice staff and felt like they really listened to me to help address my concerns.
I came into the clinic on a day when a Virus was raging, the line to get in jammed and all the urgent care workers were exhausted. Despite the circumstances eveyone was taken care of with the utmost kindness and efficiency. What more could one ask of an urgent care facility. Eureka is lucky to have such a clinic to turn to in need. Kudos and thanks
The most unprofessional and rude receptionist I’ve ever dealt with! She turned me away because I am pregnant, told me to go to the emergency room. When I called back after talking to my OB that’s not local, she yelled at me on the phone. Told me that the price was $99 because I wasn’t a open door patient and hung up on me.
