I had the best experience here! I came in on a Friday after work. At first they said the wait would be 3 hours, but got me back in about 30 minutes. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. My lab work came back on Tuesday. When I called the office someone picked up right away. The PA I spoke to gave me results and sent a prescription based on the results. So easy!!By Heather Braunstein (7 months ago)Everyone I came in to contact with was prompt, polite, and efficient. Especially considering the amount of stress on all of our healthcare workers. I was treated for full body hives and woke up a few hours later after treatment and was nearly completely clear. I wish I would have been in a better headspace so I could remember the names of all of the people that brought me relief so quickly today.
Bonus before and after!By Ashley Dawn (10 months ago)MedExpress is spectacular! Professional intake staff. Comfortable waiting area. Careful protocols during Covid. Heather, Elizabeth, and Victor were among the nicest, most caring medical professionals I have ever encountered. I make this my go-to clinic when I need immediate assistance with a health concern.By Barbara Perry (6 months ago)Dr Chen was extremely professional & kind. The front desk employee needs training. Before retirement, I managed a medical office my entire career. An ounce of compassion goes a long way. After registering at the front desk, I was told to wait in my car. Very sick with a fever (or why else would I be there on a weekend?) I asked, “Do you have a sense of the timing when I’ll be called? Will it be an hour or two hours?” Her answer was “First come, first served.” Wow. My employees would’ve never gotten away with being so rude.By Karen Rhea (4 months ago)I was traveling and had a common but urgent infection that needed antibiotics. These people were terrific! Facility is conveniently located, clean and well run. I received friendly and professional care from a nurse practitioner and her assistant. Would definitely go to MedExpress again!By Anne Hamner Rosales (6 months ago)

That’s it for our list of the best urgent care clinics in Charlottesville VA! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
I had a shockingly (we all know urgent care gets a bad rep) excellent experience at this MedExpress. The staff (Dr. Perez & Friends) was incredibly friendly and helpful and got me the care I needed for an ankle injury. I did have to wait a little while, but I know it’s because they were busy seeing other patients. To top off a bedazzling trip to MedExpress, I even walked away with a sticker. 10/10 would recommend.
I’ve gone to this location previously and had decent experiences. When I walked in today, Jennifer rudely informed me I might as well leave because they have a long wait time. I asked about the process and she was very rude. She acted like my question regarding check in/reserving a time was dumb. I’ve never been to a medical office that won’t check people in as they arrive and alert them when it’s their spot in line. She then went over to another person nearby and made a nasty comment. I work in customer service and have never left a bad comment/review of any person or place. Jennifer talks down to people and has very poor customer service skills. I will be seeking medical treatment elsewhere because of her.
Usually I never have anything to complain about because I usually have outstanding service at the Pantops location but this time was not the greatest experience I’ve had. However the check in process was difficult, the front couldn’t find my daughters check in. Then we had to call back after waiting in the car for 2 hours because they claimed she wasn’t registered when I did it myself online on their system. Then we checked in on the phone and waited another 30-40 mins after being told we were next. The nurse was fantastic, even gave my daughter a popsicle to help keep her hydrated and she is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars. The doctor was standing across the room and acting as though she was scared to be in the same room as us because my daughter tested positive for covid. The doctor was also extremely unfriendly and very stand off and told us not to stop at the front or touch anything. She made us feel unwelcome and it’s a medical clinic I’m sure we were not the only Covid positive people there. Do better doc, do better.
Went in for stitches In forehead. Wait was 1 hour. Once inside- I couldn’t have asked for better care. They were thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable and explained everything that they were doing. Went back one week later to take the stitches out. Again long wait- primary due to the app that takes you thru the registration process. Didn’t let you know if you missed filling out something so I wasted about 30 minutes. All total waited for about 2 hours. Again once inside excellent customer service. Nurse practitioner Skyler , 5 star service!
Thank you
Truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The slowness of this office is unacceptable. I came in for a pre-employment drug screen. Three hours later I hear the receptionists tell her coworkers that they’re going to stop doing drug screens in a half hour. Not only is the limited time for drug screens advertised anywhere online or within the building, but neither is it communicated to the waiting room at large, which still contains primarily other people there for drug screens. They had a single (1) person doing X-Rays and the drug screenings. Again, this makes no sense! There is an obvious overabundance of admin and an insufficient number of other staff.
If you’re trying to get anything done at this location in a timely manner, think again. If, like me, your employer dictated you couldn’t get the screening done anywhere else be prepared for a three hour wait at minimum. Honestly, try to go somewhere else. This experience robbed me of an entire day.
