Worst pharmacy experience ever. The lack of communication, caring and sheer laziness of the employees at this location is just horrible. I had maintenance medications on automatic refill through the stores system but the refill was constantly being held up because they had to order the medication, and was suggested to put said medication on automatic refill to correct the problem….. ummm it is on automatic refill….. i would say that the convience of a drive-thru doesn’t make up for the inconvenience of having your maintenance drugs not filled in a timely manner, the lack of communication from that pharmacy location and the sheer i dont care attitude displayed by its employees…. my suggestion go to any other cvs and you will find someone who caresBy Alexis d (4 months ago)I was happy to move to a neighborhood nearby this store knowing it was close. This pharmacy is so busy. You can tell the workers are constantly replaced probably due to being overworked and stressed. The lines and wait times are always long. Customers were sitting near the vaccine station telling about 8 people in line how they were there for a COVID test (coughing and maskless). If there is going to be COVID testing here make a separate location or don’t render services without a mask. What’s the point after exposing everyone in line? Total joke. Frustrating store. I feel bad for all the pharmacy workers. They are so overworked and word on the street people make more money at McDonalds flipping burgers than the pharm techs at CVS. Very sad. I’m stuck going to CVS with my employer insurance but I would switch in a second if I could.By E M (4 months ago)I guess they don’t pay their staff much. You can tell. The lack of professionalism really shows at this pharmacy. The people in the pharmacy look stressed instead of happy. They are not the only people who are busy. All working people are busy and don’t have all day to sit on the phone and wait until someone at CVS picks up the phone. Or to wait in line for 1/2 hour just to make a simple pick-up. Maybe Dickson City CVS can work on providing a more professional organized atmosphere. Your reviews are terrible.By Janet Trinovitch (3 months ago)Doctors well send scripts over 3-4 hours in advance and it’s never ready on time. “I’ll expedite it and it’ll be done in 15 minutes” how about we expedite them all so people don’t have wait 3 plus hours for a script???By Quadryder28 (3 weeks ago)Terrible attitude in the pharmacy, I’m sick and was headed to the walk in clinic and was going to have script sent there but was unsure if they accepted my insurance. I called the pharmacy, girl that answered didn’t identify herself. Asked her if they accepted my insurance, told her what it was and that I could give her my number. She said she didn’t know but probably? I said well I’m really sick and if you don’t take it I’ll send it somewhere else. Asked if my is # would help and silence. I’m like hello! She said unless I had a script she couldn’t tell me if they took it. Which is baloney I worked at a pharmacy and the pharmacist knew what we took. She said she’d just transfer it if they didn’t. I said I’m REALLY sick! I’m trying to avoid running all over the place and nothing. So they lost a customer. Rude!!!!By Lori Giello (3 months ago)

This has to be the slowest pharmacy around. I go hear because my prescription insurance requires it. Twice I went today to get my medicine and twice I left with out it. Both times the drive through and inside were people/cars deep and both times I waited 15 minutes to see and both times the line only moved once. No I have to go back a third time and hope no one is there. I don’t know if they are short staffed or what but man, 30 minutes wasted and people were very frustrated. Maybe they should care more about customer service than their mile long receipts that print.By Keith Lashinski (4 months ago)I’m a new customer at this CVS pharmacy, I’ve only been there three times. My first two visits at the pharmacy went well, everyone behind the counter were all pleasant and very helpful. I can’t say the same about my third visit. At least 45 minutes prior to my visit, my foot doctor submitted a pain relief prescription for plantar fasciitis and told me to stay off my feet as much as possible. When I arrived at CVS there was only one woman at the pickup counter and a line of 4 people ahead of me. When I asked for my order, I was told it wasn’t filled yet and to come back in 15 minutes. I returned 20 minutes later and found a longer line with a young lady behind the counter. After another long wait, I was told it wasn’t filled and to come back in 15 minutes. After telling her this was the second time I was told to come back, she said “then it should be ready soon, come back in a few minutes”. I asked, should I wait here or do I have to wait in line again? Her answer was, “Do what you want, I have too many prescriptions to keep looking for yours”. An 85 year old couple siting on the side told me to take a seat and said they’ve been waiting 20 minutes for their prescription. As I headed for the back of the line, I told them she said she was too busy to look for my order and suggested they speak up or they’ll be there forever. Now my third time standing on line with 9 other customers in front of me, my foot was hurting. Quite a few minutes later, I was now 3rd on line when I saw and heard the elderly couple ask for their prescriptions. The young lady at the counter told them they would have to go to the end of the line. At this point, I and several other customers at the front of the line began to protest and told the elderly couple to go in front of us. They refused and went to the end of the line, now 13 customers behind me. I have no idea if the young lady was properly trained in customer service but suggest another session if she was. Customers should not have to return to the end of the line, they should be asked to step to the side and finding or filling their prescription should be made someone’s priority. I’m also concerned that with the commotion of protesting customers happening, only one employee stepped up to open another register, not one employee in the pharmacy stepped forward to assist the elderly couple. I don’t want to leave a low rating over one bad experience but, if these reviews are of any value to Clarks Summit CVS, either policy change or retraining of counter employees is needed.By Bill Maak (4 months ago)Trying to figure out why this pharmacy does not answer the phone to get an eta on a prescription…. I will deal with it for myself but when it comes to my 15 month old, not ok. I’ve been sitting here now in front of the pharmacy with them on hold for over 32 minutes while and no phones ringing, no one cares. Long time cvs customer. That will now change.By Joseph Gale (4 months ago)Pharmacy is fine but manager is extremely rude. I was picking up a prescription while she literally yelled and kicked out an old elderly couple for using the bathroom while she had it closed for cleaning. I understand her frustration at the situation but her level of disrespect for the elderly as the entire store heard her screaming at them and eventually kicking them out. The place was completely silent as it made everyone so uncomfortable, it really was a shame to witness that. She could have handled it in a professional and mature manner as a manager instead of as a nasty, angry teenager. As a caregiver for my elderly mother, I felt such sadness for the 80-some year old couple who she treated like that.By Kathleen Ryan (2 months ago)FYI! There is a solid chance the pharmacy will hang up on you.
Lmao how professional.. and they wonder and assume we the people are always mad or get annoyed, when they’re usually the ones that get mad and annoyed, not me the customer, since they understand the process better, and things are inconsistent at best. Also, I’m not talking about the people who do checkout.

That’s it for our list of the best CVS in Scranton PA! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
I was nervous after reading the reviews about how rude and judgmental the pharmacy staff were here, but I decided to still give it a try. I’ve used the drive thru about 4 or 5 times now and they have always been extremely kind and helpful. My medication is a controlled substance and the reviews for those in particular worried me. However, I did not feel like they were judging me or had a negative view of me at all, and I am really grateful for that since I do get a bit embarrassed about the medication I take and if someone were to treat me like a drug seeker, I would probably just burst into tears lol. I do not see myself switching pharmacies anytime soon, and I am extremely grateful for the staff’s kindness at this location!
Absolutely worst experience I’ve ever had. Dropped off my son’s prescription at 1:15pm Christmas Day for my sick 6 year old. Patiently waited while a trainee was messing up the information she had to put into the computer. I get it, I didn’t complain because it was Christmas and she was trying her best. Finally, I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, so I thanked them and said I would walk around the store. I headed back to wait in the chair after 10 minutes or so, only to have them close the curtain screen and say we are on lunch. Seriously??? I can understand telling people that just got there that they would be ready after 2 o’clock, but at least finish up the customers that were already told to wait around for a couple minutes. Horrible experience and very unprofessional.
I liked that I could schedule vaccines for my whole family online, instead of one at a time. We did 2 adults and 2 children for influenza and COVID vaccines. The pharmacist was organized and caring even though it was a busy time. Our youngest is not a fan of shots, but the experience felt safe and was super efficient.
Not a bad location, but not the best.
This place hasn’t had a remodel in years and the parking lot feels like you’re off-roading in a 4×4. Never had a problem with the staff and items were always ready on time.
Some of these 1 star reviewers seem pretty entitled for someone in need of help.
Terrible, I’m changing this location as my pharmacy even though it’s the closest to my house the pharmacist it’s very very rude after asking him for a medication through the drive through made me come inside the store because he needed me to se my driver’s license that he “could not be” through the drive through, once inside ethe store gave me a lot attitude after back speaking to a nother customer at the window that already had left, told me that he was not a sells person after I asked him the strength or different brands of this medication OTC back the counter I needed. So stay away!
