Lack of cashiers. Cashiers are completely clueless. No backup help. It’s like this every time I go in there. The CVS, East avenue, Chico California. Has the best service. They are currently closing down. Please switch your employees from there to the esplanade CVS location.By Catherine Butler (a month ago)Love this pharmacy, but they are always behind. Very clean facility, nice staff. But for the last year there is ALWAYS a line both inside and drive through pharmacy. And not just during peak hours. All the time! Clearly a management problemBy Nick Barrett Yorton (a year ago)This location is a joke….Bailey needs to be working in the stockroom, no customer interactions, I have never in life experienced such rude behavior from any establishment until my encounter with this woman…She told me I could call the manager but he’s not going to do anything. I SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER CENT AT THIS LOCATION!!!!!!!!
PS. BAILEY NEEDS TO BE TRAINED PROPERLY……SHE IS THE WORST😒
CVS ON ESPLANADE YOU LOST A VALUABLE CUSTOMER TODAY…….By Mrs Woodpecker (7 months ago)They showed covid-19 at home tests in stock on their site. I go into the store and they told me they are out of stock but have another test for twice the amount available. Classic bait and switch. And to make it worse the tests they offered were cheaper and have a less effectivity rate than the ones I wanted. I will never be using CVS again. They need to learn how to run a business.By Brandon Thomas (a year ago)I love cvs! I shop here at least once a week because they have a little bit of everything, they’re super helpful and the staff is always super friendly.By Melissa Kelly (9 months ago)

Wait times are extremely long , every time i call its at least a 30 mins hold time, some of the people why work at the pharmacy are amazing, but overall they are always swamped and dis organizedBy suren gazaryan (a month ago)I have been going to this CVS since I was a kid, and never have I ever been spoken to in such a rude manner than at the Pharmacy. Young girl on the phone kept interrupting me, was noticeably inconvenienced by my call, and said word for word,”We literally just opened 10 minutes ago and have shots to do. We haven’t had time to do anything yet so you’ll need to wait a few hours.” After calling back to speak to the manager, I’m pretty sure it was the same girl and said nothing to me after explaining the situation, then hung up when I finished talking…no apology or any form of sincerity. I will be getting my prescriptions elsewhere from now on.By Amanda Jones (a year ago)When I arrived for the covid test that I had scheduled over a week ago, they informed me that it had been canceled due to equipment failure. Then, an hour after my appointment time, I received a cancellation email. This test was scheduled for the purpose of travel. Because these tests are conducted one person every 30 minutes, it is not unreasonable to make a phone call informing people that their test has been canceled. Some people need these tests to travel, go to work, school etc. If testing centers fail to provide the testing that they offer to the public, it’s time to stop requiring it.By A M (a year ago)The Pharmacy closes at 9 p m. At 8:50 p m, the drive through window was closed. They told my weak husband, who is on chemo treatments and has a low immune system, he could come inside. Suggest they post on their website when the window closes. We need a new pharmacy..By Diane Forrester (a year ago)My 87 year old mother was on this cvs. She is both sight and hear impaired. She was yelled at by the pharmacist because she did not hear the overhead page for her rx.
During her wait she picked up other items to buy. She approached the check out…no on was there but the sign said self check out was open. My mother does not know how to use self check out and again is hearing impaired. She was putting her items on the wrong side. A woman came and told her she wasn’t doing it right. Instead of seeing the problem and helping her, the employee belittled her. My mom ask the woman to return the item to the shelves (which was again met with disgust instead of customer service)
My mom did end up leaving the store crying.
Horrible customer service..cvs should be ashamed for treating senior citizens this way.

That’s it for our list of the best CVS in Chico CA! If you have any arguments or additional information, please leave a comment. We love to hear from our readers too!
The staff is awesome and always go beyond what’s required to help me.
I have never had a problem here until today. This CVS location was putting a new carpet down and the second you walked in you could smell the carpet glue and it caused my mom to go into allergic reaction. The staff didn’t once ask to help or if she was okay. She actually had to go outside while I paid. I have never been more angry. Lucky she is okay but be aware if you are sensitive to heavy fumes don’t go to CVS on forest until they are done with the carpet.
Was put on hold for a long time. Finally got to talk to a rude pharmacist that ended up hanging up on me. Have had issues in the past but my perscription was sent there accidentally. Will NEVER use them again!
HORRIBLE experience!!! They closed the drive thru and put up a sign that they’ll open it when enough people come through. There were ENOUGH ppl! 😉 Three cars before me, one after and several more attempting to come through the drive-thru before I was finally ‘helped’ inside. The line was all the way down the isle when I went in. They had ABSOLUTELY NO compassion for the fact that they’re deliberately and unethically making it less accessible for people who CANNOT come in to get the medicine they NEED! The lady on the intercom when I was in the drive thru came out the gate rude as h-e double hokkey stix. lol That’s not ok. We live more isolated lives and it drives people further into hermit mode when the only human interaction they have in a day is with someone thinking they have ANY RIGHT to be rude to them when there’s absolutely no reason for that and it’s just completely uncalled for… ESPECIALLY when they’re JUST TRYING TO GET THEIR MEDICINE!!! They’d be able to move the line faster if they opened the drive thru and it literally takes the same number of staff to help someone in-person v. in the drive thru. But they didn’t care about the customers’ experience AT ALL! Highly recommend going ELSEWHERE!! **Edit: Just called in because they were still sending me automated calls after I had switched my pharmacy. After I said I switched the dude on the phone just hung up on me even while I was still talking. lol! I don’t even know how they’re in business. **Edit 2: Got another automated call from them harassing me about a subscription refill on Sunday AFTER having already called them to tell them I’ve changed pharmacy and don’t want to receive any more calls from them! When I called in AGAIN to address the issue Manager Donald literally HUNG UP on me when I said don’t call me Ma’am I’m genderqueer!
Seems like this store is going through growing pains. The first few months they were open were pretty rough but it really seems like they are making significant improvements. They still have staffing shortages but despite being overworked they are making the best of it with positive attitudes and keeping the drive through open. Pharmacist seems like a pretty nice guy and very customer service oriented. The pharmacy staff seem to have a pretty friendly attitude and much less stressed out lately. More support from corporate would probably go a long way to making the pharmacy crew’s job a lot less stressful.
